Labelling one a sex offender and not offering the opportunity to reflect on mistakes or the chance of rehabilitation is just as silly. I suppose everyone who effs up should be locked up and have the key thrown away? He did a dumb thing. He paid the price as determined in court and also missed a season of nrl. He has earned another chance. And if he does eff up he will again pay the price but it won't be a case of 'I told ya so' .

He got a section 10 with a 1 year good behaviour bond for indecent assault, whilst that prevents him from working with kids under the NSW Child Protection Act 2012 it isn't the same as being a registered sex offender. There's only one person on the sex offenders list with the surname Ferguson and it is Dennis Raymond Ferguson.

The period of time your name remains on the list is dependent on your last offence or infringement on conditions, not status of life. The list can also be used for back dated research so death doesn't instantly remove you name. His profile does state the date he passed and the circumstances surrounding it.
