NEW Intrust Super Cup outfit the Townsville Blackhawks have announced the signing of former Raiders and Roosters winger Jonathon Reuben.
The 21-year-old, who was named in the 2013 Holden Cup Team of the Year and under 20s leading tryscorer while at the Raiders, was born in Townsville and played his junior footy at the Centrals Tigers.
He joined the Roosters in 2014, but wasn’t able to break through for an NRL debut.
“Jonathon comes to us well prepared,” said Blackhawks football operations manager Adrian Thomson.
“He has been in the Roosters system for the past 12 months playing NSW Cup and prior to that was one of the leading players in the Under 20s competition.
“We know he will hit the ground running.
“He is a local boy who gets to come home and play in the inaugural Townsville & Districts Mendi Blackhawks team, I think he’s excited about that.”
