We've lost Mini, Sonny, FPN and Casty in recent times and I dare say we'll lose a few more players for 2016. Surely with the help of third party agreements, an increase in the salary cap and the loss of these players, we'll be able to retain the likes of Jennings and RTS. Well, I hope we can anyway.

We have plenty of big names off contract end of 2015-16, Shecks resigning is about wether he wants to stay!

You're very right Robbo. With Cordner, Aubo, Moa and Jennings coming off contract next year, there will be a few tough decisions made. I really feel all of those will still have a lot too offer and can do us great service over the next 5 years (or in the case of Cords, the next decade). As such, I feel we must put great emphasis in 2016 retention. The only remaining off contract players for 2015 I think we must re-sign are JWH and RTS, who will hopefully want to stay. I'd like to keep the likes of SKD and Maloney too, but I'm not sure if that will be possible.

Jennings is the best centre we've had at the club in years, he and Fergo have the potential to be a lethal combo so it makes no sense in allowing Jenko to leave surely SKD and Tupou will be moved on before Jenko.

on this topic. do you think the roosters sign players to replace the guys who are coming off contract ,or are they there to put pressure on them to perform. or as a replacement to secure our future, or as a really wild guess to secure them. if your position is under threat and you really want to continjue in your current direction , do you cop abit of a loss ($$$) to eliminate your threat. ala mk for Frankie. Frankie wasn't up to the challenge. marty left due to lods dominance and moas engine. and now he is back without the threats..........on the other hand mcil is a fill in to cover jakes recovery and to play wyong roos.
burgess is signed for the reason to flick either toups or skids. or even jenko.

He also needs to show us that he can handle the important fullback position.

Pommie backpacker... heard Bondi is where it's all at?

Can't say he looks amazing but we'll see I guess. Robbo's no fool and with Casty he's shown that it doesn't matter how highly you're rated back at home... you've gotta earn a starting spot.

For most successful clubs like ours, Bulldogs & Melbourne it's all about succession planning.
Perennial cellar dwellers like the Raiders sign players to fill voids and end up paying overs because the player managers know they've got them by the balls.

Agree 100%... Raiders have been stuck paying overs for ordinary/injury prone players for years. We've had dud seasons but are fortunate not to be like them.
