The most dissapointing thing about Castys signing was that we ended up having no money left over to re-sign LOD, who I think we missed dearly last season. The likes of Napa weren't ready to continue our dominance in the front row when Moa and JWH werent on the field, especially in the big games.

From a mate that played with him in Super League and is still close with him.
I didnt reply to this thread to bash Casty though. Simply to say they dont always get it right and IMO Manu is a very poor signing. Happy to be proven wrong and see him shine in the RWB though!

Manu seems like a nice man, is very experienced, no mention of injuries, a very handy signing either on the bench or when there's an injured back rower, which seems to be about every match or every second match.

A cheaper replacement for FPN?
A mate of Sam Moa?
Here is a try assist by him (a bit like Isaac Liu?)

I don't know the guy but it's great having experienced players on the books. Unless you're freakishly lucky, there's generally at least 1 period during the season when guys inside your top 17 (if that even exists given how competitive those bench spots can be... LOVE people working their bums off to play 1st grade!!!) are injured/suspended/on rep duties. Without knowing the guy, I suspect he'll be one of the guys we can trust during such times.
Who knows... he might even cut the mustard? Guerra and Moa come to mind as two obvious players who have gone from outside the picture to centre stage. Good to have people on our books who are willing to train hard in order to further themselves.
Too many people in the world these days go for the biggest dollar rather that taking a step sideways to further themselves. I'm no oldie but at at work I've got a ~30 year old in my team who went down a pay bracket because he REALLY wanted to learn new stuff/challenge himself. Gotta say there's nothing more deadly and while my office is far away from the NRL, that small step sideways was a massive springboard for his career because he was willing to learn/work hard.
