Souths won $370000, we won $165000.

Even the teams that didn't play in the finals made $110000 for turning up.

more than winning a minor premiership.

Didn't see the game but I agree...

We often hold the refs to an impossibly high standard where they can't make one or two mistakes, but will ignore 1 or 2 dropped balls/stupid plays.

I disagree, while there is an issue with consistency caused by the two referee setup, its the incompetence and inconsistency of the individual referees over the last 10 years (at least) which is the big problem. They are not up the standard required for professional sport. There has been no referee development they have not gotten better they are worse. Touch judges do no officiating at all and should not be paid a cent.

Compare the ability and consistency of the NRL referees and touch judges with other sports officials and they are so far behind the 8 balls its ridiculous.

Lets not forget that they are not respected on the field by the players and call them by their first names.

The money doesn't mean as much as winning another title three months after you won a premiership. It gives the players and coaching staff a huge confidence boost prior to season kickoff.

Let them enjoy their short lived glory.
No sour grapes but I reckon we could have gone all the way too if we had played Friend & Jenko, as they did with Luke & Walker.

To be fair, we had our two halves they had only one who kept coming off every two minutes. Whether we like it or not, Souths will be very competitive again this season but we have the squad to match them when it counts.

I think souffs were the only full nrl team in the 9s. all the other teams blooded the youngens. credit to the up up Cronulla. they did really well with the stock they had. good game plan and exicutions. I watched every game but one and thought it was run well, the refs let a few things go , no reviews, . and the gf of the 9s is what I didn't see. a carlton draught in the pool was calling

I don't get your love affair with Stapo turk? Maybe it's his biceps. There is a reason why Robbo dropped Stapo for the semi against cronulla, even though we were short on outside backs and with the injury to Milne stretching it even further.

There was that talk of him being one of the quickest at our club during the pre-season training, but he seemed to have added some cement to his boots during the 9's.
The year 2013 marks the beginning of the Roosters next 'decade of excellence', and it will prove to be more successful than the last!

                      Here's looking at you, kid.

He was the quickest before xmas to the protein shakes bro'.

Robbo erred in semi imo, Stapo doesn't play and we lost. It doesn't get any more obvious than that. With the way some of you guys going on about how hopeless RTS is and how slow he is (I rate RTS by the way), Stapo is a sure thing to being our No.1 come round one.

His biceps are impressive but his deltoids are mind blowing ...that doesn't get you into first grade. I wouldn't pick him ahead of our established outside backs.

I would settle for him being ahead of that Netball player Ronald MacDonald at this stage. Stapo would be the first outside back waiting in the wings if someone goes down injured.

Out of the final top 8, Souths and Roosters blooded 5 youngsters with a couple of NSW cup players and rest NRL. The Cowboys, Parra, knights and Auckland had majority NRL players with Tigers and Cronulla having the least NRL players.
