Our youngsters are overrated by who, us? I think we build them up way too much on this site. I hear people go on and on about Nene but the truth is he made no real impact in the under 20's last year. He has the perfect mould for the modern day footballer but that means nothing if you don't have the talent and nous to go with it. Langi no doubt has some ability but his execution of simple plays lets him down more often then not. Willis Meehan has the size and talent but does he have the hunger? Ditto Evans. Some will make it and a lot more won't. Its always interesting to see who does and who doesn't. I remember watching guys like Aubusson, Perrett and Friend in the lower grades, they never really stood out to me but as fans we only see what they do on the paddock we have no clue about what type of person they are, how they train and what is happening in their head. Luckily the coaches have some idea and that's why guys like Aubbo and Friend will end up playing 200+ first grade games.

Thoroughly agree with you PB on your post.
Whats interesting though is that alot of the young players (not just at Roosters) think they have made it by playing 20s and their attitude stinks. The ones that do not have this attitude are the ones you want to keep. The Internet is a place for posting silly things
Try and be serious and you will look stupid

Last year everyone was too ready to write young Elliot off but he may end up being a regular first grader, if not with us probably somewhere else. Whereas much hyped mega lower graders like Bosden, Towers, Williamson, etc what happened?
Desire, dedication, mental strength and application are more important than sheer natural talent but not much else.

I still can't figure out Langi's best position tbh, he doesn't have the work ethic to be a forward, he doesn't have all the attributes to be a first grade half and he's too slow for centre - I can see why the Dogs had no qualms trading him for Llyod now after thinking they were crazy at the time.

Here's looking at you, kid.
