What about Langi stuffing up consecutive kick offs. It's scary how such simple things are lacking in professional players.
That dummy half was Mitch Williams. The first day of the 9's for him was shocking with his ball handling, dropping several very simple passes to him. The second day thankfully he didn't have such problems. His defense is good, and he is quite a quick little fella with the ball.

Those stuff ups by Langi were pathetic. I imagine Langi will only come into the team if we have at least 7 players out due to injury/suspension/origin.
The year 2013 marks the beginning of the Roosters next 'decade of excellence', and it will prove to be more successful than the last!

    Here's looking at you, kid.

I see Langi's best position as a five/eight, in my opinion is he needs to have more control of the game.
The game he played for Tonga v Samoa in 2013 showed his potential.
He is still only 21, so he still has time to learn the job.
Those two simple errors at kickoff are easily fixed, neither one was knocked on, an easier option is to move him away from the dead ball line.
I'm not ready to hang these guys yet, they are still finding there feet playing with the big boys and then,

*Nines footy is a "totally different" ball game. (Even at the kick off.)
      *Its a trial game.
*Its the players first hit out of the season.

im a fan of nenes game , but his defence on the wing was poor. wings don't run backwards to defend. if you run backwards you have no defence. , or you will be snowballed by the wings momentum. attacking defencive wingers....

Both will struggle to get any game time. I don't think (hope) that Mitch williams isn't our starting dummy half and that either Hastings or matt mcilwrick get a go. def. not first grade material.

Langi was good in the 20's but I doubt he has the speed or kicking/passing game to make a name for himself in the NRL.
          Comment of the year:

Andrew Johns, Semi-Final vs North Queensland ,

"It's touched Lui's hand and travelled forward but that's not a knock on"

I agree but he seems to behind Maloney & then Hastings in regards to playing 5/8 at the Roosters. Unless you are given 5 to 6 years to develop like Pearce was then he will end up at another club or ESL.

Langi couldn't dominate at u /20 level his defense is not up to 1st grade standard is way down the pecking order IMO Takaheio was impressive looked like a he'll become a impact player off the bench,it'll be interesting to see how Leulaii highly rated by the club.

He was actually pretty dominant his whole 20s career. In 2013 he would frequently win us games on his own when he decided to rip that big left foot step on the left edge playing second receiver.

I think he's a backrower. His step is still very good and was effective in the Nines. And he also knows how to run a line. But my two issues with him is that firstly he's inconsistent with basic skills and also his defence isn't good enough to be an edge forward. It's not like it's terrible which it's made out to be due to two first grade games he played at centre (a position he had never played before) and even then they weren't shocking defensive performances by any means. To me he'll end up one of those players that will go to another lesser club, be a reasonable first grader probably off the bench, do some impressive things and a lot of people will cry foul as to why we let him go. When in reality he'll probably still have the same deficiencies.

Kane Linnett is one of these players. Looked good in his first year outside a good half in Carney. Was average when things weren't served on a platter (or at all with Anasta at 6) then goes to North QLD to play outside JT and looks like a superstar again. He's barely progressed at all as a player, other than maybe competes in the tackle better. He's always run a very good unders line, JT just knows how to use it.

Anyway, I'm hoping Vincent Leuluai steps up this year because he is consistently impressive and has all the attributes to be a very good first grader. Never seen a bloke care less about his body when running the ball up. Scary stuff.

                  That didn't stop Braith Anasta...
