Not really if you watched closely last year he was defending in the middle during the prop rotation anyway.

With Friend injured I would start the season with JWH & Moa interchanging with Napa & Liu.
In Jakes absences I would start with Hastings interchanging with McIlwrick.
Aubs & Cordner in the backrow with Willis Meehan or Siosiua Taukeiaho getting some minutes being the 4th reserve.
Guerra lock, he has the size & the motor to play in the middle.

        Pearce (c)
        Maloney
        Tupou
        Jennings
        Fergusson/SKD
        SKD/Fergusson
        RTS.

Evans, Kennedy, Manu, McDonald, Taukeiaho, Elliott, Stapelton, Langi, Siejka, Vincent Leuluai & maybe Abraham Papalii are the ones we turn to if we get hit with injury.

You've only been playing him in the middle for the last two years, coach.

I prefer a forward that has speed mobility and a metre gainer - all of these Napa is not. I don't buy the so called intimidation factor some say he has. A l

Have you ever played league? Intimidation is a big factor. I used to love watching us kick off and watch the opposition see moz coming at them before running the other way. Napa will have this effect. This forums standards are ridiculous. These players that are getting bagged out recently are all kids who are still developing. Not many world beaters at 20odd.

The game has changed since Moz - Napa left his team mates posted at the end of last season via his suspension. I prefer a player with skill and a brain and yes to your question I did play league and was also a above average middle distance athlete too.Yes Napa is a kid who needs to grow up as his brain works as fast as his slow leg speed. As you mention a past great Moz I will go further back by naming Bunny Reilly aa a intimidator via his classic tackling style who is regarded in the top 20 hard men of league. half the size of Napa and Moz without the brain explosions.

                  I see your point.

But I think Robbo could be positoning Napa to take over Cranky Frank Paul's role now that he has left, which is:

                  1. Intimidate the crap out of opposition to put them off their game plan
                  2. Intimidate the crap out of the oppositions so they make handling errors and such

It's a very important and underrated role I think.

I'd still like to see him bend the line a bit though, especially given his size

You're right, fpn intimidated himself, simplest of dropped balls and penalties aplenty.

This is not a good thing.
                      I hate rugby league.
                      That wasn't always the case.
Napa didn't want a career as a pro touch-football player.

There'll always be a role for an intimidator. Yes the game has changed. There's a difference between being a hard man and giving away penalties. Napa has everything to be the perfect hard man. Much like Luke odonell. He just needs to stop leading with the shoulder, which he has probably learned to do for over ten years when it was legal.

I wish they had changed the rule two years afterr the moment they did. Imagine for a second a defence of Napa, JWH, and SBW all running in with shoulder charges. Would make a highlight reel on its own.
                          Comment of the year:

Andrew Johns, Semi-Final vs North Queensland ,

"It's touched Lui's hand and travelled forward but that's not a knock on"

We'd have the most ferocious pack in the game. But alas, one too many head knocks equals less dollars for nrl.

God help me, I was only 19,.

The NRL has got it wrong, we all know that.

Gotta feel for blokes like Napa.
