  • Not sure about RTS

    I was always a fan....who wouldn't be....big sidestep. Hungry...ambitious warriors reject.

Gotta say, this dude is leaving me unsure.
Seems a little less likely to put his body and reputation on the line like Mini.
It could well be a case of style over substance.
Hope I'm wrong. But pretty sure I'm not.
    Cement needed bro.

Too much speed work ....not enough weights......smash your head into a jukebox.
    barbarian ......arrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrgh!!!!!!!

Hey bro' give me your source about RTS being a Warriors reject.

I was in NZ back then , he was playing rugby and earmarked to one day play for the All Blacks. He played just one season of school rugby league but had such an impact, I'm sure there were about 10 NRL clubs after him when we got him.

No questions over his commitment or workrate here based on what I've seen.

Obviously we don't get to see them every day when the real hardwork & prep is done but based on everything I've heard and the public backing he's received from Mini & Robbo I think it's fair to assume he must be doing something right.

Golden State. Before Hayne there was RTS. Tried his hand at NBA but struggled from the foul line. Seriously the crap I read here sometimes just makes me shake my head.

Not sure how anyone can actually make an informed decision when the kid has not been given a full crack at the position. Can't be easy to be consistent or gain a lot of confidence when you are 70% on the wing and 30% fullback.
RTS was used as a battering ram out of the danger zone last year. When you are running at compressed forwards time after time, your step does not really become a factor.
I can see him getting a lot more room and freedom at fullback. And surely the kid deserves a full year in the position before he gets written off.

                    .
Do you ever get sick of being the voice of reason?
I'm no judge , but I am losing faith in this particular "website"

Ain't being sarcastic , agree with that comment fully.
Your posts are usually worth the time reading.

We'll all know a lot more about RTS by seasons end, and I'm betting the coach will give him every chance.

                      Ok I've got two statements.

Statement 1. Any kid that slips through the net of the Warriors and being a NZ rugby protege means that they would have known about him. Sure they may not have signed him for the cash he wanted.......but it was a tongue in cheek comment none the less.

Statement 2. Sure we will know more about him by seasons end. That is pretty freaking obvious isn't it?
I'm saying that he may not do as well as what we all thought he might. I've just noticed him do a couple of things over the last year that concerns me. These concerns are based on his physical commitment.

Re statement number 1.Bro', he was in the NZ Rah-Rah system ya Doofus. The NZ Rugby system generally has first bite at its talented Juniors before the Warriors as it is the number one code back home cuzz!

The Warriors were aware of him but had 100 million fullbacks back then. POS or was it the cheif recruitment officer here on the Pen The Rooster Oracle Bro', Bro', Bro', got him before the others.

NZ Rugby cuzzies were mighty pissed off we got him....that is enough endorsement for me.

BTW are you related to David Trewhella?

I got two responses, but I'd be wasting my time .
Things are always "freaking obvious" to concerned supporters like yourself.
                          Who cares?
I'm all for free speech, btw, but shite.............Reject?????????

The only thing that concerns me is whether he can cope under the high ball. He had a few issues there. In saying that, we were used to watching a fullback in Mini who rarely dropped a bomb.
In an attacking sense, playing like a 5/8 in the attacking line and support play, I think he will excel and be an improvement on Mini.

My comment about knowing more at the end of the year was obvious like you say. But it was more about us giving the kid a chance so we CAN make a judgement. Physical commitment? Are you suggesting he doesn't put his body on the line? Coz he did a lot of hit ups straight into the opposition forward pack all year.

Would be pretty boring place Eddie if we all agreed with each other. I got no issue with Trewhellas post. I don't agree with him but plenty don't agree with me. It's the belters that post for the sake of getting post numbers up that crap me off. I gotta say tho that that has improved over the last month.
