  • The aura to be one of the best.

One must always be careful when drawing comparisons from one player to the next. No one player is exactly like another. But the aura of expectation that Blake Ferguson brings to this coming season for the Roosters, borders that which Sonny Bill Williams brought with him. Both troubled with decisions that saw them leave the sport. Granted, SBW had no criminal charges or convictions levelled at him for walking away from the Bulldogs, but his reputation had suffered a substantial blow. What he did together with his teammates in those short 2 years in the Red, White & Blue is give Roosters supporters a premiership, instil that SBW work ethic and significantly for him, rebuilt his reputation in the Rugby League community.

Blake Ferguson's reputation laying in pieces on the floor is no one's fault but his own, but it seems that he has started getting things back on track. I hope for him that he shows us his best on & off the field. If he does that, he with his team mates will go a long way to gifting all of us Roosters with another premiership, but so importantly for Blake, he will mend his reputation in a sport where he can be anything he puts his mind to. He has the ability, the strength and the aura to be one of the best. What we need to know is does he have the character.?

I am looking forwards to Ferguson playing with, but it isn't anything like SBW and he will not have the impact off the field that SBW had

He now realises what a spoilt cnt he was,

most importantly he's finally discovered an appreciation for the game

          He will be DEADLY,

Spot on. As good as he on field performances were, SBW the professional and idol was arguably the greatest thing he brought to the club.

I tend to agree with this statement. The old you never knew what you had until you lost it routine. Without football Ferguson appears to have very little in his life. This is his chance to make something of himself. Lets hope he takes it with both hands.

I watched his post match interview on Roosters TV & I can just see a young man who is doing his best with the opportunity the Roosters have given him, he was very humble & was actually appreciative that he got to play in the trial saying that it was not FG but that he enjoyed the run with the lesser lights.

I don't think he has the aura of SBW, he never will but with him continuing on the way he is going us Roosters fans are going to be treated to some sensational play in attack & defence by Fergusson. Guaranteed.
