We pretty much have ourselves by the balls

Maybe Politis can fark things up even more by playing tough guy in the negotiations and blowing the whole deal

    Incorrect, he was never sacked

If we sacked him indeed we owe him, if he wants to leave he asks for a release, which off course will be granted, its his decision to make, play for newtown / sit on the sidelines and get the dollars, get another contract elsewhere get the release, take the pay for the part of the season he was with us( around 150 i guess) then take whatever is on offer elsewhere.

Just because a release has been granted, does not mean we are lable for the time he isnt with us.

Because I don't think so ToK...
It's a little trickier than that

        This is from the Herald...

The Knights would be able to offer Mason no more than $80,000 this season but he is entitled to $100,000 of his $400,000-a-year contract with the Roosters.

The Rugby League Players Association could become involved if the Bondi Junction club refuses to allow him to play for an NRL rival after making it clear it does not want him.

''For whatever reason, Willie is not a member of the association but we would step in because this issue is wider than just him,'' RLPA chief executive David Garnsey said. ''If a club doesn't want to give someone a game, they should release him to another club that will play him.''

Politis wouldn't be where he is by blowing many deals.

Not the Rugby League Players Association...Some real big-hitters there..

Politis must be shaking in his boots right about now....

This is where it is clear that a contract goes both ways...

I thought the interesting part was where it suggested that he's in some way "entitled" to $100K from the Roosters

Doesn't that entitlement stem from the fact that the last year of his apparently $400,000 contract started on 1 November 2009 and it is now three months later? One-quarter of the year as a Rooster (Nov to Jan inclusive) equals one-quarter of 400K = 100K.

He has reportably been paid this money minus his Fitzy farewell auction bill...

Why has this become so complex?
He plays with the bluebags,or asks for a release, therefore we owe him nothin'
                            Either way,he's ****ed!!
