His runs from the back were very good, obviously got us on the front foot making a few extra metres than mini at the end of his career and usually getting a quick play the ball, unlike often when he was hitting it back from the wing. He nearly busted the line a couple of times on kick returns not really show casing a lot of playmaking tonight but was involved in a several sweeping backline plays which more often than not were not Mini's strong point.
He was safe fielding kicks but really wasn't put under a lot of pressure. The try he scored was a classic RTS side step and he could have scored one from an attacking kick from a bomb which was well taken by Stewart in a keenly contested bomb between the 2 custodians. I would say 7.5 out of 10.Last edited by SoS; 02-21-2015, 11:12 PM.

Of the forwards Jared didnt play much minutes as he played All-Stars game last week. He looked to go more hard in this trial which was good to see. Napa was strong and apart from the brain explosion shoulder charge, his carries made good ground and his defence was punishing. Kennedy and Evans were powerful and what was particularly pleasing was that Marty really ran hard at the line and was bending it and appeared for this game anyway to leave the handbrake off. SST is impressive and could break through into FG this year, was usually bending the line and Manu in his limited time was impressive too with a powerful run and offload leading to a try by Napa?
Moa, Maubs, Cords and Guerra all were strong but I was focusing more on the fringe first graders. McIlreck played solid and will settle into our pattern of play but Maubs and SoH May have the jump on him, but it is a nice problem to have considering Friend is out for first 8 or so rounds.Last edited by Parkway_Drive; 02-22-2015, 12:53 AM.Originally posted by boogie

All the doomsayers on here doubting RTS as fullback should've been at Gosford to see a polished performance saved a certain try holding up Symonds and scored a great try with sublime footwork leaving 3 Manly players clutching at thin air the scary thing he'll only get better,Pearcey also looks set for a big year scored a cracking try himself and our prop rotation was too much for Manly bring on round 1.
