But of controversy here at quarter time. One of the Wyong Roos under 10s has attempted to tackle Lyon while he was whinging to the ref.

Why wouldn't there be? Don't they now have more referees and touch judges than players?

How does rts look at fb? Is our defence looking formidable?

Outstanding work SG and SoS. Some of these guys I have never heard of. Did RTS start? Any involvement.

Bro', Reasonably solid but Manly dropping pill a lot. There kicking game not good. RTS solid and done what he has positioned himself well. Hasn't been test by the bomb. Twopoo taken the only bomb put up by Manly as kicked to corner...

Very happy with that half. Coach will be chuffed as we executed with a very cold and calm efficiency. Nothing flash. Just focussed.

                        General memories:

Pearce looking very poised. Kicked a fantastic touch finder on a pen, scored a solo try, looks to be enjoying the captaincy.

Fergo had little ball, but when he had it he looked dangerous. I can see already how much our team will improve with him there and SKD on the wing. He monstered his opposite number in defense at one point. He is HUGE.

Roger looks calm, too. Was getting himself very involved and I can see him carving up in the second half as subs are made and opportunities become accessible. Won a pen for us after a good run and took all kicks with ease.

Jenko looks on. No real chances for him but he's received some early ball from Maloney and he seems to be enjoying that.

Topou diffused a bomb defensively and then got taken out massively in a carbon copy of the one he scored against Manly in the GF. The refs are a joke on this.

Napa, Evans and Takahao (again, sorry) came on for Moa, JWH and Liu respectively. Aside from The Red Menace's shoulder fart, the subs were at least as effective as the starting bods.

Evans the outstanding forward so far. He's been immense, you meter-eater fiends.

Aubo came on around the 30th min. Played dummy half. Pretty spewin' about that when he's clearly better as a back-rower. But obviously Robbo sees him as a utility (which he is, much to Aubbo's own chagrin I imagine).

Stsae will be happy to know MLK has marched on the field to strains of Seven Nation Army by White Stipes.

SST and Evans good runs and the West Indian quick Twopoo scores at the end of set in corner.

great update SG, sounds like penalties are going to be a killer, also sounds like Evans should be chosen ahead of Kennedy for round 1.

if today is any indication the bench for round 1 is likely to be Maubs/Napa/Evans/Taukeiaho

Beautiful set results in a Toupo try with a solid draw and pass back line shift. Pearce with a great draw, engage and basketball pass to an on-running Jenko who passed early to Toups. Pearcy!

                                Maloney converts from the sideline.
