  • Where will Willie's money be spent?

With Willie gone, there should be about $100-200k to spend depending on the size of Willie's payout. Where will it be spent?

Hopefully we will pick up a decent FG centre. There are plenty of young kids coming through, but we are still light on for FG quality centres.

Kieran Foran has already been mentioned.

Not sure if I would be a fan of Foran coming.....We already have another half (Jones) and winger (SKD) training in the centres.......I would rather a real centre rather than another make shift one

Wasn't there talk of Inu coming if we managed to get rid of Mason?

If Parra wont release him for this season or if we can't fit him under the cap (perhaps a back-ended deal could work) then I'd love to see us go after him for 2011.

I think they should save it for this year, make a few adjustments and have a go at Michael Jennings for next year. Not sure, but i think this is the final year on his Penrith contract.

Needs to be a centre, IMO. It has to be...that is still the main position we are weak in.

At the moment we have a backline of Carney, Mini, SKD, Graham, Perrett. Graham can play centre or wing, Perrett is a fullback/winger who can play a bit of centre, SKD is a winger who is going to be tried at centre. If Anasta moves to lock and Carney to five-eighth, Mini will go to fullback and Perrett to wing, or even Perrett straight to wing.

The point is, none of these players are complete specialist centres. Graham is the closest we have, otherwise there are no established players. I would love to see a long-term centre pairing of Williamson/Inu or Kenny-Dowall/Inu, depending on who flourishes out of Willo and SKD, but I think we would benefit greatly from the signing of Inu. It is completely logical - fast, strong, breaks tackles, has an x-factor, can kick goals, score tries, etc.

Sure he is inconsistent, but with a clog in Parra's backline stocks, he would be worth pursuing.

I don't rate Inu much...personally I wouldn't mind Mitch Aubusson being one of our long term centres

If we buy Jennings then the whole 'new beggining' saga would sound like a bunch of crap.
Back to the days of paying overs for players who won't have an honest dig.

Every season, a rookie breaks first grade whether through injury or whatnot and shines. This is the player that we should aim for. Not some overpriced hack.

It would take a lot of money to make Jennings leave the foot of the mountains.....

Inu is the one we should go after now will is gooooooon. We need a goal kicker just in case carney dosen't work out. Centre is where we are weak. we need a quality player in that position. Brian will hopefully see about where he is at with parra. They need salery cap space & have plenty of backline players to choose from.

I'm sure i read in the SMH last week, that the Roosters were targeting a forward,if Mason left.

I also like Maubs in the centres, but talking to him last season he said he doesn't like the centres. He prefers playing in the 2nd row.

BS said with the signing of Ryles that there would be no more for the 2010 season. I know since then Mason has left the club but that was inevitable.

I think the club will front end a few players contracts leaving us with some room to move under the salary cap in 2011.

I just hope it's Smith signing the players he wants and not who Politis wants.
