Most of our supporters refer to us as Easts or Eastern Suburbs so i don't now how that would piss us off,i think it's a compliment actually and it acknowledges our history Rusty can call us Easts or Eastern Suburbs any time he wants.

You're in a pub talking to Sam Burgess and you refer to Russell Crowe as a "****wit"?

As for fullback i would prefer to see Sam Perrett playing there or Mini and Sammy alternating between full back.I would prefer to see Carney at 5/8 and at the moment there is no guarantee that Anasta will be a 100% fit for the start of the season so who would be 5/8 if Carney is fullback and Braith not fit?

No not bullshit at all. Maybe you wouldnt have the balls to do it. But I certainly did and would do it again. As I said Burgess laughed at it.

Most of the players that have played at Souths in the "Crowe" era think he is a dickhead.

Your conscience is asking you "why am I continuing with this lie? Of course I didn't call Russell Crowe a ****wit when I was talking to the pommy front rower that he signed. I wish I hadn't pretended that I did. God I'm stupid. It's not making me sound like a tough guy at all. It's just making me sound like a bullshitting idiot. But there's nothing I can do now except continue to insist that I did say it"

on the topic of Russell's use of Easts, here's a Q&A from the time he did a blog on the Roosters site last year:

Posted by Kenny at 14/05/2009 09:54 AM
They say the great Ray Stehr used to sign off his newspaper columns with "Easts to win!" Do you think that would be a good closing statement for you when you make your news reports?

RUSSELL FAIRFAX: That phrase unfortunately has no place to play in the modern game. We are now officially known as the Roosters maybe i should change it to and “the Roosters to win”. I do know a bit about that saying when i had the terrible misfortune of being shown the door as a coach back in the early 90s i pinched rugged ray punch line and after i gave my version of why i was sacked i finished it with “Easts to win” and no matter what sort of a rough deal i felt i got here as a player or a coach it will always be Easts to win for me.

I don't think Mini can get back to his best but I do think he is an adaptable player who is still far and away our best option at fullback.

I have no idea why you would sign one of the best 5/8 / halfback's in the game to play him out of position. I keep hearing that it's to keep the halve pairing together which makes less sense IMO
That's nice and all, but Brian is the one down at training every day and has not confirmed a thing other than Carney and Mini will both be trialled at the position.

This article reeks of the telegraph just ruffling some feathers again, let Smith do his job and the armchair experts can hammer him once it's a proven disaster, for ****s sake.

ToK - I think most people use either "dickhead" or "****wit" as kind of like a prefix before the name Crowe...

What was Burgess going to do..?? Beat him to a pulp in the pub..Times have changed..

I don't think there has been a time in the past 4 years that I haven't used the term ****wit when talking about Crowe.

I wouldn't be afraid to say it to a Souths player or staff member. In fact I'd be pretty interested to hear their thoughts on him, given the amount of hilarious stories I've heard about Crowe's exploits when he pays them a visit during training.
