He's certainly got some big wraps at the club and if he's dominating in the 20's then I don't think Smith will be left with any other choice...
Hows he had a massive workload? He missed half of last season with a broken jaw.

He started off playing in the SG ball season, then went to the NYC (going back to play the odd game for SG Ball). He played 13 games for the NYC and is now training with the first grade squad full time

For a 16yr old kid that is a massive workload... especially once you through in all the school games.

I agree. Myles shits on everyone in our team.

        Sorry...that was poor.

WOW - What colour is his cape??

No one would have said anything like this about a young Fitzy..

10 Easts players will have to make an extra 5 tackles per game to make up for Fitzy...No one will just walk into the shoes of Fitz...

Cordner is a very special talent.

Myles does have a big engine, but he only turns it on when he is wearing a qld origin jersey.

Wow, this kid is going to be the best footballer ever to pull on a jersey!

I know the kid has wraps on him, and from the limited time I have seen him, he shows plenty of promise. However this is a massive statement - akin to the 'next Don Bradman' tags that often do the rounds in cricket.

I would love for you to be right, but I would hate for this kid to have to carry those tags around at such a young age. With such massive expectations, it will be very difficult for him to not disappoint!

Even though he might have massive wraps on him, he doesn't seem to be the type of kid to care about what anybody thinks. From what I've heard, he is far more mature than his age might suggest and for players such as Fitzy last season to state that he is something special at the age of 16, he must know that this kid will turn out to be a superstar. He might have all the talent in the world, but it seems his attitude is the biggest quality he has. He wasn't overawed to rip into training when he first started training with first grade.

Cordner will play first grade in 2010. Coach Smith told me so himself....

Aiden Guerra & Daniel Conn could be the surprise packets for season 2010.Prior to their injuries, both players have very high work rates and are looking for opportunities. Bellamy had a very high opinion of Guerra prior to him joining the roosters. With a great attitude and some hard training both guys could cover the forwards position in case of serious injuries.

thats why he has so many raps on him because he is the complete package. He is in the fitzy mold aka workhorse in attack and defense with a never say die attitude however he is much more skillful than fitz - an earmark of modern day players really who boast far more skills than the generations prior especially in the forwards and he also has morely and crocker esc aggression. He will be something big im almost certain. He has the mental toughness, the ability and the size to cut it. If he does cut it which i have little doubt that he wont then he will be a superstar mark my words.

Great Comment roz. Boyd Cordner is certainly a special talent. I have seen him play in junior reps for the roosters, including schoolboy footy and NYC. He plays footy very similar to Brian Fletcher.Great ball skills-always looks to unload, attracts 3 defenders, and certainly reads the game very well.He loves and breaths footy & wants to play 1st grade for the rwb, after i spoke to him at the end of 2009. But best of all, his attack is also similar to Ben Creagh-Makes alot of yards and is very hard to stop near the try line, and delivers those Artie Beetson passes. A great investment for easts in the future and he will be powerful forward off the 1st gde bench in 2010.

When all the dust settles and emotions ease, Fitzy was without doubt a legend. His workrate second to none.
But the fact is he led a team to the wooden spoon, so his leadership has at least to be questioned.
In attack, he became predictable, those angled runs to the left that made him an easy pick up.
I agree with all on here that Fitzy though had the "X factor" - just an indescribable work ethic that (I agree) every team needs.
He is not irreplaceable - far from it. we will be the poorer in defence and workrate, but better in attack. The Willie Mason saga is a tragedy for us. He could right now be preparing to be the next Fitzy .. anyway, water under the bridge.
Anasta in the back row will be the worker. He will have a great 2010.

I've never seen Boyd play, but no way do modern day forwards have far more skills than those of previous generations. There's a lot less ball playing now than there was 10 or 20 years ago before there was interchange and before there were Polynesians. Unless you mean wrestling skills of course
