I just don't know what to expect...I would have been more comfortable if JWH was playing to get in and bruise their forwards...and the fact that Fitzy won't be there cleaning up every friggin tackle is worrying as well...however stranger things have happened in games before and you just don't know what to expect from this new Roosters side for 2010...

I'm with you on this one Lydon. I didn't give us a hope in hell round 1 last year. I'm hoping the Bunnies start reading the papers and believe all the hype that they're top 4 bound.....we might just sneak under their guard.

I think we have the X factor this year in B.Smith..
He is the main reason as to why i am confident this time around.

Why?we were top 4 in 2008 and souffs were in the bottom few.

and any great team has to deal with hype, so if they are actually any good they wont care whats written about them, we shouldn't either.

Souths didn't get flogged in their trials like we did last year. We also lost a lot fo depth and replaced it with nothing as well as losing our only outside back with any pace. There was also the rumblings over Anasta not being happy about being shifted to lock, so after an off-season where he hardly trained at five eighth we shelved everything to keep him happy. I guess I just didn't see anything to inspire me about 2009 and I was proven correct.

I just have a feeling that we are in much better shape this year and that everybody is on the same page.

Im sure we can beat Souths, I think they will take us way too easy, and with good reason, Burgess and Taylor are both game breakers, if we can shut them down i think we can get opportunities to score based on a good kicking game which i hope to see from pearce and Carney.

I agree, we have to have a great kick chase game......it used to be one of our great strengths, and a fast moving line in defence...shades of 2002...Id love to see that again.

The game has changed since 2002. If possible, its become even faster. If we defended at speed like 2002, we wouldnt last 40 minutes.
