  • Whose gunna be the standout this year?

Last year it was Sammy Perret, a player who many called for his head never to see first grade again.

So whose got the guts to proclaim now who they think will be a standout for us this year?

For me its SKD. 2010 will be his year to shine and he'll surprise many of you with his pace, skill and tackle breaking ability.

    Chook.

you may be right about skd, we know he can score tries with the best of them, you don't become top try scorer for the club over 2 years by doing nothing.

his defence and concertration let him down, being a young bloke, and much like the rest of the team, he lacked the guidance from an experienced coach.

The other player would be Carney, he has alot to prove, both on and off the field....is the task beyond him????

In other words you're hailing coach Brian Smith as the Messiah, with miracle powers.

For mine, I reckon Tom Symonds could stand out, if he's given the right opportunities and barring injury.

I hope you are right....I love the guy, but I do hope you have thick skin for all the ribbing you are about to be given.....

Oh and my choice is Cherro......I think he has matured a fair bit and with it hopefully comes the wisdom to go with the talent we know is there...

JWH - particularly toward the back end of the year.

If he improves as much this year as he did last year, he will be a stand out.

I also think, given his style of play, that he will develop the same support and rapport with the crowds that The Great Moooooorley did.

I also think (and hope) that his enthusiastic style of play will lift some of our other forwards such as Myles.

I think he has a minor injury but not in any doubt for round one.

For mine, it would be great to see Mini back to his best.
We certainly have missed line breaks in our kick return. I'm not taking away from Perrett. He tried hard and played well- in many games he was our standout in metres gained. This statement is about how Mini has the ability to lift the team.

Personally, I don't see Carney at Fullback for long before Mini or Perrett replaces him. Perhaps Brian's plan includes these guys switching field roles to share kick returns.

Mitchell Aubusson will flourish from nowhere the way that Glenn Stewart did.
