Is it just me...or do the Roosters get a raw deal from Refs?

There is no way ever anyone will convince me the Sharks were 72 penalties better off in discipline last season, sorry - that's bullshit.Last edited by elo; 02-19-2010, 08:55 AM.

We certainly get pinged a lot more than any other team.
Its clearly an act of bias by the referees, however I think that we have brought it on ourselves with a couple seasons of poor discipline. We have played dumb around the ruck for several years and now refs are looking for it and penalising us more severely than others.
Think of us as Morley and the refs as the judiciary. We let a few too many drift high and now they are pinging us for everything.

• who has the ball
- when in possession - e.g., Mason's "too quick" play the ball FFS
- when defending and a penalty is conceded on the fourth or fifth tackle
• what the field position is
• whether it is a mandatory or discretionary penalty
- the Roosters copped plenty of poor discretionary penalties
• consistency of rule application
- this drove me mad
Certain penalties at certain times of the game have more effect than if those same penalties were given at other times and in this area I think the Roosters suffered. I hope that things change for the better this year."The price of freedom is eternal vigilance."

Last year our side was so slow and lazy in getting off the tackled player even I would admit that a lot of the penalties against us were justified.
We were unfit, undisciplined and penalised when we tried to slow the game down to a pace our blokes could cope with.
When the team's attitude and fitness improves, we'll win more penalty counts.
