I was thinking that as well all off season Coggy, but apart from Graham who we signed, there was stuff all available on the market. Now I am liking the depth we have in this position with what I have seen and believe with our junior bunch we have.
I am now more worried with our depth up front and think we need another hard head forward to give us the go forward needed. I was hoping Boyd Cordner may have been the one to do this in 2011 and 12,but his knee injury will set this right back.I would be using our cap space for this role if our current centres develop the way I am hoping.
I would be happy if one of our young players could do the job but as it is who do we have? When Symonds is fit i'd put him straight in. Williamson is an uknown quality at this stage. All I know is we need a fast, hard running centre who can break the line and can tackle. From what I saw last year Symonds fits the bill.

So you want to keep putting second rowers out in the centres???
Let’s wait and see what develops
There is Cheyse Blair in the centres who played well but came out of the line a bit much but is a big unit and could be the type of person you are looking for in the back line.

Symonds was great in the centres last year. Cheyse Blair? Who knows, could be a find could also be a dud.

I have sort of written this year off as a rebuilding year Coggy with our off season purchases.I think we have now recruited 20 or so players with only a handful having any first grade experience.
I am more looking forward to some of these kids stepping up to first grade standard this year, and build on our weakness` for next season.
I think Smithy will have us built up as serious premiership contenders in 2012.
My enjoyment this year will be
1-hoping our young squad can over achieve and make the semi`s or
2-just watching our stable of talent from the u/20`s and top 25 develop and improve each game to get to the levels needed for my 2012 prediction...
Symo is an absolute talent which I am eagerly awaiting to see which position Smithy wants him at and to make that position his own.I doubt it will be long term centre, that position will be filled from Sth Africa with POS further future recruitment...
I am willing to be patient with our clubs new direction in recruitment,as The chequbook approach of the past three years has certainly failed

I heard Williamson had a big game for Newtown on Saturday night. Did anyone go to the match?

Who were the Jets playing on Saturday night?
I assume Arona, Baiteri, Du Plessis, Foran, Ford, Guerra, Kouparitsas, Masoe, Symonds, Towers, Tuigamala and Williamson all played in the Saturday night match as none of them featured in Newtowns loss against Wests yesterday.
Nothing on the Jets website about the Saturday night game.

I know this is about Carney but can anyone tell me how Phil Graham went and do you think he is good for Roosters.
Dreaming.
He looked misplaced in the centres and didn't have much of a chance to shine.
I'd like to reserve judgment until he is given a chance on the wing.
Interestingly, how do you rate him? Is he only a winger or can he play centre?
