Team to play the Eels

Well they are saying on FoxSports that Carney has been named at fullback for this week's trial, so there must have been a team named somewhere.

On a slightly different note, they were showing the lads at training and I was trying to figure out who the bogun looking bloke with the longish greasy comb over was who was in the footage.

It's taken a few hours and repeat looks but I've finally figured it out - it's Tony Archer whose obviously been invited to training to give the guys some tips.

Geez he was looking sleazy and dodgy. Reminds me of Con the Fruiterer.

Pretty much what was expected. I would have picked Martin Kennedy instead of Daniel Conn (Kennedy is a genuine prop), Liam Foran instead of Nick Kouparitsas (and maybe started Foran at five-eighth with Jones off the bench), and maybe a Roosters-contracted prop like Mose Masoe or Tinirau Arona, instead of Leaeno who is a pretty average Jets prop.

I would say 14 or 15 are penciled in for round 1

On facebook Mattho was told that round 1 was a roosters home game they tried to pull out some conspiracy that we always get the first game at home !!!!
