Will Anasta ruin the mix??

I have tread reports on our two trials about how good the combo is between Pearce and Carney. I have also read that most of Carneys good work is being done from the 5/8th position. Just cant help thinking that if Anasta comes back at 6 this combo will be stifled.

For mine Anasta aint a good 6 anyway and I think we would be even more potent with Mini at 1 especially on kick returns.

I think playing Carney as a roving fullback in attack, and Mini at fullback in defense for the kick returns will serve us well.

Anasta should be playing lock, he is NOT a freakin 5/8, never has been, never will be.

I think Anasta has to play lock, or maybe centre, not 5/8, I dont know if he can get his head around playing a lesser role, not being the go to man, but I hope so, I think the guy is a trier, but just has to come to terms with the fact that as a 5/8 he just doesn't cut it.

Funny about you mentioning O'Donnell...I wanted him years ago, was hoping we would get him when I first saw him play for the Tigers, the guy had so much aggression...he was awesome.

If Anasta can play his role a little more quieter he will be great.....no need to bag the bloke
He is the only one at our club who publicly states he loves the club etc and puts his best in - he is definately no Finch and he has won a premiership-you need blokes like him.
There is no doubt a Carney- Pearce is the future of our halves.
Anasta can tackle too so we need him with a few forwards gone for the season.

Imo Jones will be the one to miss out, I'd have him as my utility but reports have been suggesting all off-season that Brian wants Koups in the 17. And if/when Friend makes his return, thats even more competition for the utility position.

From all accounts Koops wasn't up to standard.
Ben Jones played well in the Indiginous Team at hooker. I think he answers our prayers. Stong and creative player.

I like Anasta. He plays with passion for this club and I'm glad he is captain. Being a clubman, he will gladly play where it best suits the team. I'd love to see him running hard off Pearse, Jaubs and Carnage (borrowed that name from previous post).

Let's give him a chance when he returns.

Maybe you are right, we havent seen Anasta get to play a game with Carney in the team, and with the new enthusiasm from everyone else...... I know he will give 100% and maybe having Carney there will take a lot of pressure off him.

I like the starting side, but i'm not sure on the bench.
We need two props on the bench, as i dont expect long minutes from Ryles.
Kennedy and Arona hopefully are ready for FG? Is there any other Props that are ready? Moseo?

Ryles should be back for round 1.
If Anasta isn't, Jones to 5/8 and Takairangi/Kouparitsas to replace him on the bench.
