    Fullback - Carney
    Wingers - Minichiello and Graham
    Centres - Leilua and SKD
Halves - Anasta (c) and Pearce
    Props - FPN and Ryles
    Hooker - Jaubs
Second Rowers - Symonds and Maubs
    Lock - Myles

    Bench - 14. Jones 15. Guerra 16. Paea 17. Kennedy/ Arona

I like the starting side, but i'm not sure on the bench.
We need two props on the bench, as i dont expect long minutes from Ryles.
Kennedy and Arona hopefully are ready for FG? Is there any other Props that are ready? Moseo?

Ryles should be back for round 1.
If Anasta isn't, Jones to 5/8 and Takairangi/Kouparitsas to replace him on the bench.
Conn in there for number 17. We will go for mobility and run the big rabbits pack around

      Anasta

Lets face it, Anasta is a poor man's fittler.. Carney looks the goods, I'd have BA at Newtown...

For mine Anasta aint a good 6 anyway and I think we would be even more potent with Mini at 1 especially on kick returns.
Carneys work last night was better from the back, he chimes in when ever, he has the knack of knowing when exactly to do it, i was initially aagainst this idea, but with very little defense coming his way, he is as fresh as a daisy for our attack, i am happy to eat humble pie on this smith decision

I think that will all change when sides really test him out at fullback. Still think we would be more lethal with Mini at the back

            woah.. what's going on here

            Hi Chuck, i'm Chook.

            and no, i don't think G.Stewart or O''Donnell are 700k.

As for Anasta, i've always seen him as a lock.. as much as he doesn't like it.

Mini was a mile off the pace last night, he done ok, but we have seen the best of him.

                    Indeed

Maliota is probably the most promising of our young props (local junior too).

He is the only one at our club who publicly states he loves the club etc and puts his best in - he is definately no Finch and he has won a premiership-you need blokes like him.
There is no doubt a Carney- Pearce is the future of our halves.
Anasta can tackle too so we need him with a few forwards gone for the season.
Of course he is no Finch. Finch has won two WCCs The on field achievments of Brett Finch far outweifgh those of Anasta

This comment should trigger off some healthy debate.

Geez AW that needs some rephrasing in a big way.

Lets change that to "of course he is no Finch. Finch has been in teams that have won two WCCs. The on field acheivements of teams Finch has found himself in far outweigh those of Anasta"

No way in hell can I think that Finch is a better player than Anasta.

I don't Anasta will necessarily ruin the mix but it will mean Mitchell Pearce having less ball than he currently gets at the moment. Ben Jones's role is to basically shift the ball wide to the centres and let them play their game. With Anasta at 6, it will be more of another attacking game and he will try and stamp his authority on the game which will take away from Pearce's controlling a lot more things with Jones at 6.

It just semms more logical to shift Anasta to lock, especially with Cherro going down to injury..
