Well, what a relief. Joy at last!
Brian Smith came up with a great plan early. The Souths big blokes were gassed after 10 minutes and went off pretty quick. As soon as that happened, on came Jaubs and Ryles(who had a strong game).
I thought Pearce was a bit tentative at the start, but with time he became more confident and ran the show pretty well.
Props to Anasta for playing as long as he did, the bloke had a through and through concussion. Brave decision to stay on the field.
Our Props, even though manhandled at times, executed the plan perfectly with tight defence and secure ball handling.
Props to Conn and Kouparitsas, i thought both had good games with limited minutes, especially Conn, who i saw do a lot of clean up work.
Maubs was bloody class.
SKD made me eat some humble pie, it looks like he is a great fit at centre. Funny to see his long strides taking him away from Sandow even though intitially he was getting outsprinted.
Carney is a spark player.
However in a field of his own was Nate Myles. Some of the stuff he was involved in weas dead set inspirational. He was doing it last year as well however it is much more effective when done without 10 extra kg.
My points:
3. Myles
2. Maubs
1. SKD/Carney
