Com'n RC thats the best joke youv'e made in ages.

Issac Luke is much better than Sutton, Sutton would not know consistency if it bit him on the arse.

In the Souths side I rate Burgess, Sutton, and Luke. That's pretty much it. The rest are nuffies. Merrit can score some tries if he gets some decent ball from their massively inconsistent halves

Signs were good during the trials, but do you really think its good enough to defeat a pretty good looking Rabbitohs squad?
I think it basically depends on Brian Smith choosing the correct tactics, as well as Carney and Pearce continuing their form
ie (tactical kicking, making their big forwards constantly turn around) and whether our players are able to carry out the instructions on the field, it has'nt helped us to any extent that we've had so many pre-season injuries to some very key players, but as long as the team puts in a whole hearted effort for 80 mins. we can't really ask for more than that....

The Roosters to come back from a 10 point half time defecit to win by 2 points (Carney to convert from the sideline).

Trial form would indicate that the Roosters have already come up with some good combinations.

The Rabbits pack will tire at the end of the first half and in the last 20 minutes.

It will also be a different motivation for the Rabbits. Usually they are geared up to beat their more fancied neighbours. This year there is clearly much more expectation on the Rabbits in the media.

The Roosters will be underdogs and will be quicker, fitter and more highly motivated.

The Rabbits will be strong up the middle and hard to contain early, but fitness and pressure will see them buckle at the end of the match.

Carney for man of the match.

You mean not kick it straight to the fullback like we usually do ?

We need to beat Souths out wide. The Charity Shield game revealed their vulnerability in defence on the edges. Our trial form has been heavily dependant upon playing the fringes in attack, having our backrowers running out wide, and having players like Pearce and Carney sniffing for gaps or rushing defence. Considering we have a fairly light weight pack (particularly in the backrow), we aren't going to compete with Souths up the guts. So we need to play to our strengths, exploit their defensive weakness and focus on using our mobility compared to their muscle

I'm not sure who I hate the most - Russel Crowe, Sandow, the Souffs real fans or the Souff 'celebrity' fans....

Actually after a second to think about it it is definitely Russel Crowe.

Vasco it's the vermin we're playing.

BTW, you're having a go but you think the vermin will win by 13+?

I think we'll do a lot of dummy half running early, trying to work the bigger Souths forwards over and get them to compress their line a bit. After about 15 mins or so, we will then look to spread the ball to the edges and throw numbers at defenders like Sutton, Champion, Sandow and Best. The Souths outside backs have a tendency to make bad decisions in defence when there are numbers coming their way, so look for Carney sweeping around from behind the ruck from a quick spread from Anasta or Pearce. I think we have more string to our bow in the kicking department and as long as can shut down the Souths forwards and stop their roll, I think we can get them.

A big role, I think, will be Ben Jones. He needs to come off the bench and run rings around Taylor, Burgess, Stuart and Pettybourne - all big units with little to no lateral mobility. Wrongfoot them, and then put hole-hitters like Symonds and Morbs through gaps.
