I think the club is being a little optimistic about Symond's injury, it is very similar to an injury Stephen Gilham the Hawthorn(AFL) defender did last year, much like Symonds he didn't have ligament damage but bone bruising the problem being everytime they stepped up his training the knee would swell dramatically causing him to be stood down from training again, by the time the injury settled down it was around 5 months.
it is certainly great news that there is no significant ligament damage.
not surprising to see that the club was being a little optimistic about Tom Symonds injury, they have already extended his stay on the sidelines to 4-6 weeks, don't be surprised if it extends further once they get him back into training and the knee is placed under stress, if it is anything like Stephen Gilham's(Hawthorn AFL) recovery from the same injury it will be a slow frustrating process.

Damn, bugger, shyte. Let him get fully fit by the sounds of it otherwise it will just prolong the process.
