2-4 weeks is a great result...means we'll be seeing the likes of him and JWH fighting for inclusion into the starting side...what a great position for Smith to have all these blokes playing out of their skins to make the side...

Wishing Tom a speedy, complication free and full recovery over the coming weeks. Unfortunately, I have to punt him from my Fantasy team."The price of freedom is eternal vigilance."

Injury Update
15/03/2010 1:02:10 PM
Tom Symonds has undergone scans on his injured knee that have revealed he is only suffering from bruised bones.
The news comes as a great relief to the Club after it was suspected he had torn his medial ligament.
The scans indicated no damage to any ligaments and he is expected to miss 3-4 weeks.
Braith Anasta (concussion) and James Aubusson (thigh cork) are expected to be fully fit for this weekend.

I think the club is being a little optimistic about Symond's injury, it is very similar to an injury Stephen Gilham the Hawthorn(AFL) defender did last year, much like Symonds he didn't have ligament damage but bone bruising the problem being everytime they stepped up his training the knee would swell dramatically causing him to be stood down from training again, by the time the injury settled down it was around 5 months.
it is certainly great news that there is no significant ligament damage.

I have had bone bruising when I did my knee. The post above me is spot on. It leaves the area very tender after every run.
Hopefully, his one isn't as bad.
Even though I had extensive physio, I'm sure the level of treatment these guys get is heads and shoulders above what a Joe sshmoe like me would get.

I never played for United, only against them. Most of my mates played for Bums and Undies, I always loved that nic.
