I'm not 100% sure why Lima is needed. At full strength, we already have a full team of props, and even with the prospect of injury, we have three young NYC graduates in Tinirau Arona, Mose Masoe and Martin Kennedy, all of whom I strongly believe can do well at first grade given extended opportunity. Even Daniel Conn, who is a backrower, played prop at a pinch last week and did surprisingly well, and at times Nate pushed up into the front row with his usual gritty effectiveness.
How often are teams at full strength. We already have two backrowers out for the season while another is out for a month already.

He would be a great acquisition.

Jeff Lima would be a handy pick up mid-season but i think him signing with us is unlikely. I dont think our club has a lot under the salary cap and i'm sure he would ask a decent amount.

I think firstly we should disregard what is written in RLW they are rarely right. I remember reading in previous seasons how we were going to sign players like Barrett and Lockyer. I mean last week we were negotiating with that english bloke Graham.

Looking at our squad I honestly think we are only 2-3 players away from being a very good team. One is a strike centre the other is some experience in the pack. I'm not a big fan of Lima but he would improve us.

In the Tele today Peter O'Sullivan said we are after back rowers. Being after Lima is not that much of a stretch. He would be a replacement for Cherro.

We need a centre and a hooker, far more than a forward.

              SKD is our strike centre

Lima would be a great acquisition.

It isn't suprising that we after backrowers we are lacking some experience and depth in the pack. We also need a centre and I think we will be pretty strong.

Off topic but what is happening with Friend? Is he coming back?

Maybe SKD is but Graham isnt.

I don't think Lima is Brian Smith's type of front rower. Neither are FPN or Paea but i guess they will get a chance with him since they are already under contract.

Lima would command some decent coin. No thanks.

I think we should give it half a season to see whether our cattle are up to it, then make recruitment decisions. Brian Smith has a knack of getting the most out of nuffies.

Lima and Paea are hard-running workhorses of a very similar style. They are much like Fa'aoso was at Knights and Moimoi was at the Eels.

Nuuausala is probably very different to what Smith has encountered in the past. He is more focused on hitting the line and searching for offloads. I think he needs people running off him, especially Carney.

I'll tell you what, with Cherrington out, a starting forward pack of Lima, J Aubusson, Ryles, JWH, Myles, M Aubusson is frightening for most opposition. Add the explosive rangas Symonds and Jones, and the monster Islanders Nuuausala and Paea on the bench - possibly one of the best packs in the NRL.

Fa'aoso and Moimoi are not workhorses. They are both impact players who spend limited time on the actual field. They would be lucky to play 80 minutes between them each weekend...

They started off as impact players. Moimoi still is. But Fa'aoso now is much more of a workhorse than he was before. My brother is a Knights fan, and he noted how much Fa'aosos fitness and workrate improved last season.

that's highly debatable even now ptb, but over the next 2-3 years Frank Paul will develop into a better prop than Jeff Lima ever was or will be

Didn't Fa'aoso play off the bench on the weekend with limitied minutes ?
