      Well put Roosdaman.
If we bring him back before the lesson is learned because we may need to fill a vacancy; Jake ruins the last chance he has and then no one wins.

I hope he has learned from his mistakes because he comes across as a nice bloke (most of them are).

Cheers Axe, hopefully the kid has learnt his lesson, and if they come to terms and agree that missing half a season is the right penalty then id welcome hm back gladly. We all have had lessons to learn, unfortunately we have to learn more from mistakes than from when we do things right.

From what I understand, in order for Friend to be able to play n 2010 he needs to have his contract registered with the NRL by 30 June. Not sure if that's a little too soon for Jake to be back to concentrating on football full time.

The Roosters need to carefully consider this kid's long term future and well being, not their needs for an extra footballer during rep footy time. That's the worst reason I could think of to bring him back early.

I'd much rather he had the year out of footy and made a fresh start in 2011. Remember he still has 2 court cases that are unresolved.

As usual you are a bastion of common sense novice.
No to Jake in 2010 thank you very much.

Does he still qualify for Toyota cup?

Good, stick him in there for a while. Let him build his confidence up.

                          Good solution.
Use the time to fully test his resolve and personal development.
In the meantime, develop Jones into a hooker.
                          Thoughts?

Unless Anasta is gone, Jones only has a utility role at the club.

I want Anasta to play out his career here. He deserves some success after busting his ass over so many years and bleeding for the club. He has copped it harder than any other Rooster, and in my opinion, deserves a gf more than anybody on the team except Brian Smith.

                              BigMike,
Do you see Jones as a better hooker option than Friend?
I do. Imagine Jaubs and Jones sharing the role with Jones being the optional utility. Then you could select 3 other forwards as our reserves.

I was a massive fan of Friend from his debut. He has tons of heart, great technique and a very good passing game.

Quite a few people rate him quite highly which is why the Roosters never let him go.
