  • Pearce's defense against the Tigers

watched the game again last night, and Pearce's one on one tackling, especially in the second half, was superb

He's no Adam Dykes but he will do us.

He has come along really, really well in that area. He was always aggressive in defense but now his one-on-one tackling and technique seem to have improved a lot.

I am really happy with the way he has come along during the off-season.

The only thing I can be critical about him in defense is he does get caught running out of the line too much and when he misses it is a problem.

But he is a tough bugger who for his size is a great one on one defender

He was favouring his left shoulder late in the game but still managed some great grass cutters.

Anyone hear anything about his shoulder?

Pearce is tough, of that I have no doubt and especially when one compares his defensive efforts to some other number sevens.

To the naked eye, there's not too much that Jnr Jnr has inherited from his father, but his love of the defensive tough stuff is something that's in his genes I reckon.

Not to mention his never giving up and giving it all he has for the full 80 mins, he's the one still revving up the troups to the final whistle.

I think we are all going to look back in a few years and realise how blessed we are to have Pearce at this club.

Let hope he's a one club man.

He has great technique, knows when to cut them down, and when to wrap them up.

Pearce and Wallace are very similar players defensively. Plenty of ticker in both.

That will get tested in the next few weeks as teams will start to spot him more.

Pearce's technique has always been pretty good but word is he put on 6kg over the summer so now he has extra size and strength. Doesn't look like it has affected his pace either! He was nowhere when Lopini busted the line but got there pretty quick once the big guy was through.

He was up there on Sunday as one of our top tacklers
