Carney to halves- (this deserves a new thread :D )
i lost count how many times fpn and paea were still coming back onside on tackle 4 after a bulldags kick
i didnt think guerra went too bad without doing anything special, and think jaubs should start, not sold on koops at all
but i still think braith 6 and carney 1, theres not much difference in attack anyway, when carney wants the ball he can still get the ball, just wasnt looking for it much today imo

If he keeps dropping the ****ing thing like he did today...i dont want him to have it!

Guerra was solid in D. Didnt put his hand up enough when it came time to take a run.
He's proven that he can be effective from fullback... he already plays like another half in attack. I don't see how the move would make him more 'effective'?
His defensive duties on the other hand leaves many questions to be answered... this week is the first time he has come up against a true halfback, is it too early for Smith to bite the bullet?

Thats right on the mark - the bludgers just sauntered back into the attacking line after 3 or 4 tackles. The big men need to be making the hit ups on the second and third tackles, really placing the opposition on the back foot. not leaving it to wingers to make ineffective dummy half runs.
He was one of our top tacklers today, i skimmed over the tackle effectiveness and he made the most one on one tackles and only missed 2 from 30. That's not a bad achievemnt.

yeah i agree.... he'll be back stronger.. but that fend jama put on him was a little to easy..
I made another thread without seeing this thread sorry so I will repost here
Surely after today Smith can see that Carney isnt and never will be a fullback. Sure its great to have a playmaker at fullback blah blah blah but give me a fullback that is a great defender, a great kick returner and good at fielding kicks anyday of the week. Perrett or Mini should be fullback. Cant see this obsession with having a 5/8th playing fullback. I mean when you look at it the best two fullbacks in the game in slater and Hayne arent 5/8ths and their strengths certainly arent playmaking
Without a doubt.. he is smashed returning kicks and has no confidence with the bouncing ball. Additionally Anasta has no composure at 5/8.. back to his reportaire of kicking the ball dead, kicking the ball to the oppostion when making a break and throwing intercept tries. When we needed a cool calm experienced head settling the youngsters he was nowhere. He bleeds for the team without a doubt but tries too hard and ends up making mistakes as a result.
yeh but slater and hayne both wernt the best fullbacks in the game after their third game in the position
people need to realise its one loss (although a terrible one), carney at fullback was the best decision smith has ever made a week ago, and imo still is, apart from the one dropped ball for morris' 20th try i cant recall anything carney doing that was so bad today( although im sure some people are about to remind me)
most of the trys were just terrible defense right across the line
