How about the the referee penalising Mitch Aubusson for a high shot. In the following set, the Bulldogs score a try. If that tackle was a high shot, then something is wrong.

All those calls in the first ten were utter bullshit.

Forward pass off FPN? Don't think so.
            Knock on? No.
            High shot? Barely.

There were a good 4-5 incidents like this in the first half that led to Dogs tries. The second half was pure gutlessness on our part though.

Finally, that was the worst display i have ever seen by any outside backs. Carney, Minichiello, Jones, SKD, Perrett - hang your heads in shame. All useless today.

Anasta and Pearce had a go, were trying to get something happening but those around them were offering nothing.

Anasta clearly played at that ball - correct decision. How did you not see him stick his leg out? And they were right to penalise Carney for that shepherd, he ran too far.

I know they didn't show up and a lot of other things went wrong, but Carney is not a fullback, and Anasta, although he was good in defence and did well to grab that bomb, is not an attacking 5/8. He has that shortside rush play he lives for that worked a couple of times last year, but that is all. He is jarring in attack. Carney does not need to be getting bashed bringing the ball back 20 times a game. He needs to be getting his hands on the ball in the line.

By the rules my initial thought was the Carney thing was def a penalty, I think the debate is more whether the rules or correct or not. And 8 out 9 times they will blow the penalty.

In my opninion Anasta did not play the ball, he turned his damn back and I didn't think his foot went out.

I agree. The defender made a bad decision and was not impeded.

I guess my frustration is the rule is not clearly defined and can be interpreted differently from indecent to indecent.

I just think the defender has to be proven to be impeded, t here was another example in the 20's that left me shaking my head where a player ran behind his team mate but there wasn't a defender within 5 meters and still a penalty

It was definately an obstruction. Carney had to throw the ball a little earlier to avoid running behind the decoy runner. Fair call against us

My biggest gripe is when players do not get back onside. That bugs me no end. They wait for the team to catch up to them. I don't care if they are tired, they could at least jog back slowly rather than stand there...

Sorry Adam, but if you disagree about Anasta playing at that kick, you're either blind or don't know the rules. Maybe you missed it during the game. Try watching it again, and then see if you can come back and maintain that Anasta didn't stick his leg out to get it in the way of the kick. That's called playing at the ball, and Anasta's one is about as clear an example of it as you'll ever see.

No totally sure about Anasta playing at the ball as it was in his stride.Only he knows that for certain.

The rest of the post I completely agree with and have said as much already.Attacking wise it can work but he looks very vulnwerable fielding the kicks particulalrly the ones along the ground and looks even more vulnerable returning them Its a disgrace that our best player is forced to get smashed time and time again. Anasta in NO6 aslo gets in Carneys way in attack when he gets his hands on the ball before Carney, this leads to Carneys time on the ball and decision making time being shortened and he is forced to rush things. He then becomes a far easier target for the defence At least though Carney is having a dig at Fullback unlike the other cat Anasta who spat his dummy out had a cry and could not catch a ball or ground a kick when he was put in the NO 1 jumper last year.
