I don't believe in any theory regarding going into a game prepared to cop a loss...every 2 points up for grabs should be contested for...it could be the difference between making the playoffs or not making them...the difference of having a home semi or not depending on how far up the top 8 you can get to...

You are not Brian Smith though are you???

You and me sit in the blue bucket seats whilst Smith is in the coaches box...

There is probably a reason for this...

Yeah but not that they were looking to drop the game and hope on winning the next one...in this day and age of NRL every game is vital and I just couldn't see how Smith or the Rooster's coaching group would be prepared to deliberately drop the points...

I can accept the fact they were drained and fatigued from the 2 hot Sunday games...the players expected their red hot attacking form to automatically happen again...and didn't play with the same enthusiasm or commitment that the Dogs did...they looked ****ed out there and they played ****ed as well...

The Roosters have not deliberately dropped a game since Big Willy left

I dont think the idea suggested was to drop the game as such. More not to prepare with the same intensity as we did the 1st 2wks. The result isnt something the coach was going to worry about, win or lose or in that case got thumped.

Unfortunately The Boggs really came out pumped for that game and hammered us. Our intensity was non existent. We saw enough in the 1st 2wks, IMO, to show at least we have the intensity in us again, unlike last seasons pissweak efforts.

This side IMO will take maybe 1 1/2yrs (if it ever happens under Smiff) to consistently peform at an intense level, like Melba and The Stains do very well. Most of them have been coached shithouse for their whole 1st grade carrers. And theres alot of dead wood that needs to be flicked.

Improve this year, challenge for the 8 next year, anything else is a bonus IMO.

Maybe he's given up the booze for Lent - isn't that when you give up something you really like?

Not that I've ever done it myself of course, and I admit my knowledge of religion is negligible.
