Please send next week's team list to Mr Smith please.
By the way, why did the Bulldogs let Kouparitsas go?

He was one of a group of players that didn't adjust their attitude under the new regime. 3 players were let go after 2 weeks of pre-season, they were absolutely ruthless about attitude. Guys like Holdsworth, Roberts, Barba and Idris really put in the effort. Koups and Te Maari for one reason or another fell out of favour. Reni's situation was well publicised, Groom was let go and another young back was asked to seek alternative career opportunities.

Realistically though, there were quiet a few back rowers ahead of Koups, especially with Stagg, Eastwood, Warburton and Daniel Harrison preferred over him, as well as Te Maari until he had the dust up with Barba. Koups is 26 now (25 then), had only notched up 35 first grade games and still trying to cement his place in the NRL.

I liked him as a player, obviously, but he was also seen as part of the 2008 brigade.
