I feel bad for Canberra. They produce some real talents (Carney) and they excel elsewhere.

I guess being a Raider isn't all the appealing. But saying that, I wouldn't be opposed to signing him or Vidot.

IN A major blow for the Raiders, Canberra flyer Josh Dugan yesterday rejected a three-year contract extension in favour of testing his value on the open market next season.

He reminds me alot of a young Brett Mullins. I would sign him up in a heartbeat.

        Moneywise, 3yr rep-incentive, ie 1st yr 180,000, 2nd yr 220,000, 3rd yr 250,000. Aussie jumper adds 50 grand.

I would be surprised if he actually left the faders. Awesome talent.

        Crikey.

he is a good player but imo, first and foremost, towers needs to get a game at fullback (now that pearce is out and carney is in the halves, perfect opportunity). If we need to sign a fullback id prefer lachlan coote or even william zillman. both much more underrated than dugan but just as if not more effective.

Coote not only has the outstanding defensive play but his support play is much better than dugans and he is also much more agile and quicker than dugan which imo is a must in a fullback. his ball playing abilities are also superior to dugans at least atm. I put zillman in the same category. really good support player and excellent defensive fullback with some great ball skillls having started his career in the halves.

First of all what is all this rubbish sentiment about Canberra or any other club. Every player is fair game. RL is a professional sport these days, if you want to crap on because he's someone's local junior then tell Gallop to pull his finger out and give the Roosters back their stolen junior areas. If a player comes on the market and he's worth chasing and we have room under the cap then of course we should make a play. Secondly who gives a crap about Canberra having a good team, the only team that I want to see succeed are the Roosters!

Dugan's contract expires at the end of 2011, so it's not surprising that he knocked back the extension. Chances are he's waiting to see if he earns a rep jersey to boost his value

signing anyone that far out is sheer madness, esp given what they'd be paying

                          will they ever learn?

                          no

why do you keep reading it?

you're effectively calling yourself an idiot

It's all Nicks fault, bet ya Braith had something to do with the decision too.

If he plays rep football his value would go up further. If they want him long term why not sign him now?
