no Rooster player for me comes even close to being our toughest than Horrie Hastings. Just simply one of a kind.
I also recall John Brass finished a game on a broken ankle once. That alone makes him tougher than Ryan Cross in my book.
I would also add Royce Ayliffe and John Harvey somewhere in that group. Finally, lest you should forget, Big Jack Gibson was no shrinking violet as a player either.
In fact any footballer that played in the 60's and 70's would only have to say Boo to a modern footballer to send him into the psyche ward. The modern footballer is a far more accomplished athlete but in no way do they play with the same type of pain as they played with in the old days.
