  • Anasta again proves why we wont win a comp with him at 6

Braith was ordinary tonight and when we needed someone to step up late in the game when Carney went off he did fark all.

Now I await Phantom and co dribbling about how good a clubman he is, how much he loves the Roosters etc the simple fact is when the opportunity was there tonight for Braith to lead the way and put the Raiders to the sword he did nothing. In fact I cant ever remember him dominating a game at all.

That being said he is a great runner of the footy but he isnt and never has been a 6. At teh Dogs he was carried by Sherwin and now here he is being carried by Pearce and Carney.

Taking up too much cap space Braith.

I am a defender of Anasta but his kicking tonight was abysmal and has not been great this season.
He actually through a couple of nice passes tonight, but I agree the Roosters should not play him as a ball player.

I think he should be on the field, running the ball, but most importantly for his defense. He is very strong in defense and thats where to me he shows leadership

Who is still playing NRL, and who was punted/let go/decided to pursue other opportunities/chose to go overseas.....when a great pack wasn't their to provide him with endless space.

Braith was too quiet again tonight. I agree - he's not Benji - so why is he taking up a similar amount of cap space?

Poor kicking and a lack of damaging running.

Kicking was poor. He may not be playing great so far this year but he's not letting anyone down either imo.

Braith will play better if hes not Captain, Myles, Pearce or Carney should have that role. And no more kicking either.

I don't mind Braith for long clearance kicking, and bombs. But the 'finesse' kicks like chips, grubbers, or placement kicks, should really be left to Pearce or Carney.

The cold hard fact is when you are occupying the amount of salary cap space that Braith does, he needs to do a lot more than not letting anyone down..

If Carney's going to play fullback, an Anasta-style five-eighth is ideal. You wouldn't get as much out of Carney at fullback if there was a dominant genuine ball-player at five-eighth.

I've never been too sure about what Anasta's ideal role in a team should be - I've changed my mind from five-eighth to lock to second rower about twenty times each, but I think playing five-eighth with a new-age ball-playing fullback is perfect for him. Judging him based on what he did when Carney was off isn't really fair as the entire point is that he compliments Carney's role so well.

Dolphin....you're the biggest dickhead of a supporter that I have ever seen.

I love my Raiders, but yep we lost. But you don't see me carrying on like some half wit QLDer like yourself.

I'd be ashamed to know you if you supported my Raiders.

You were the punk in under 10's that cried at half time because your team was losing.

                        You're a ****en soft cock.

Give your fellow Roosters supporters a break and get the **** out of here for a few months. Then come back with a less whinging whining attitude you skunk.

But why not cut out the middle man (Anasta) and stick the ball player (Carney) in the middle of the pitch, especially when there is a couple of competent fullbacks playing on the wing?

It would also improve the side's kicking game and would improve Anasta's contribution - a move to lock would give him a license to just run the footy and not have to worry about ball playing and kicking, which at the moment he is doing averagely and Carney could do a better job of.

Especially when Sam Perret has such a great broken play game.
