IT was an error against the Cowboys last year that haunts my mind every time I think about Mini going back to fullback

Ho hum - same old, same old from the usual suspects.

It's as predictable as a Sharkies loss.

Fact is Braith Anasta is on contract until the end of next season I believe, and will be our 5/8 and captain for the forseeable future barring injury.

He has no desire to go elsewhere and will demand a deserved payout if shafted early, which I don't believe Brian Smith will do anyway.

So suck it up and deal with it all you Anasta critics.

The weekly tanty is becoming very boring and repetitive.

It is laughable the way you endlessly bagged Wing for years, a premiership winner but stick vehemently behind an underperforming Anasta.. Sadly you like others only judge players based on how nice they are at the club rather than performances...

Agree. The current 1 6 7 structure is working wonderfully in attack. Why change it.

What has the number 6 done?

He has unselfishly allowed the number 7 and 1 look fantastic and allow us to appreciate their kicking game even more. I actually think Anasta seems like a great bloke and he puts in 100% every week no matter what but in a professional sport it is not unreasonable that the highest paid players are expected to perform at a higher level than most... His kicking game has the accuracy of a scud missile as do some of his passes... For a better balance, Pearce and Carney in the halves next year and allow Braith a nice retirement cheque in the UK.. With the money he frees up we would have some nice buying power to strengthen the front row/centres area in which we are weak.

I just don't understand what his role is....... in a word....RESTRAINT......whats he holding back for....why so timid? Surely the odd pointless chip or catch pass is not it?
Someone please explain to Bwaif he is not on the set of Zoolander

you've highlighted the problem with Anasta perfectly

he costs as much as those 2 you mentioned, but isn't in the same universe when it comes to ability

you've stopped defending his playing ability. and now sound like his manager speaking to the media

do you have any contacts in French rugby?

And exactly how much do you think Anasta is on TOK?

Perret is safe at the back and makes great kick returns, however he isn't the fastest bloke and his support play is non-existant. We can still utilize his powerful dh running off the wing. It has really worked well for him so far, his workrate is phenomenal.

Shouldn't be a problem though as I think Carney will end up playing next week.

Perrett safe at the back, how do you figure that? Even last year when he was playing better than this year, he was always good for one or two regulation drop balls or some other fundamental error.

Just because he was solid in a team going backwards last year does not make him a good player.

And you're right he isn't the fastest player, in fact he is about on par with Luke Covell when it comes to pace

Anasta is doing ok, being a good link player... we are 4 and 2 so our halves must be working, if we were 2 and 4 then we should be looking at changes!

lol... I am well aware of that.. it just gives me the shits how he constantly refers to himself as unbiased yet bags a player who actually performed last season and was close to our best player and played Fullback yet thinks Anasta is beyond criticism.

Braith bashers are out again. I think he compliments Pearce and Carney really well. We don't need him to set the world on fire. He had some nice touches tonight, mainly when he was running the ball and not looking to ball play. People forget he is also an excellent defender, not much gets through him. He was a bit quiet against Canberra. But has been good all season

If we didn't have 2 other ball players in the team, then I would be far more critical. But it is obvious that this season, he has been instructed to do less in the ball playing department. He also doesn't kick as much as he used to. If anything, I would like to see him running the ball at pace a lot more. Because, that's when he is at his best. He had a couple of those runs on Saturday night, in which he made good yards and almost broke the line
