I find it funny the NewsRL have acted so harshly and swiftly. Its funny cos they OWN Melba. Surely they know whose getting paid what at their OWN club??? The same club they kick 8-10 mill into each year.

The players themselves would have known what was going down.
That means that they were accepting money knowing that the person organising the payment was commiting fraud, therefor they are an accomplice, are they not?
If ANY club said to ANY player we will give you 400K and 100K on the side ANY player and their manager would be sweet with that.
I bet at least one of our players past or present has copped a "brown paper bag". All clubs wouldve done it at some time.
Its recording the figures thats amazing to me. Actually letting it get to Schueys hands. Farking classic mexicans.
The FlogPen .
You know it makes sense.

Gallop alluded to signed statutory declarations submitted to the NRL..
I would asume this comes right into systematic fraud territory..
If i was Waldron i would be sheeting myself..
I would hate to have Rupert hunting me through the courts..

Did he really say ex staff?
I thought he said 5 people in total?
2 current who have been sacked and 3 former including Waldron

it was this statement from Hartigan of News Ltd that got me worried about POS possible involment.
"There are other people that I believe are involved that are no longer with the club - our enquires so far have identified five people who knew about the efforts to conceal these payments," Hartigan said.
what is interesting is that the NRL auditing team has access to a players tax return to confirm income, and obviously some of the Storm's higher profile players haven't been including these additional payments on their tax returns over previous years, otherwise the NRL would have discovered this massive fraud earlier.
wouldn't surprise to see the ATO make examples out of some of these players as a deterrent to others, with massive fines or even jail time possible depending on the length/scale of deception.

As owners of the Storm, their corporate governance could not have been that shocking for them not to know
I would not put anything past News

I reckon News have done their usual come out with the "show" of force. Act all hurt and chastising the baddies. Its the best way to deflect blame. Kunt was just on Johns footy show defending his employer.
Out of court settlement would be my best guess. Or maybe the "patsy" has been found???
Interesting times ahead.
Glad its not farking us.

I'm sure I read an article that suggested the Cap Auditor was hamstrung by the fact that he had no right to view a player tax return.
