A few ex-chookies in this game: Obst, Cusak, O'Melley, Tandy, and the one game wonder body-builder Greek, Korkidis.

But must say the standard of this game is very poor.

      Crikey.

Tansey was having a shocker, droped balls, kicks out on the full, poor passes.....he was not good enough in the NRL, and seems that he is not good enough for ESL.

Bring anyone in to replace Pearse, it doesn't matter.

Saints were ten times the team we were today, ten times the team we were last year etc.

Now the Storm are ****ed, they'll win this year easily.

Then they can have our 2002 Claytons trophy. It's worth shit.

I'd rather win next years Trophy when it actually counts.

Wishing you a speedy recovery Mitchell and I'm not surprised you've finally gotten injured given the tough way you play the game.

Exactly, unlike some other halves who hide on the wing.

I would like to see towers come into fullback, carney to halfback. it wont happen - smith will not conceed the failure of the 'experiment' until the end of the season at least but towers has been killing it for newtown, is an extremely talented player and it has become clear that fullback is not carneys best position so lets see how this goes. The other advantage of this move is that considering carney is a longterm half, if we play towers now and he goes well then we can take heart in the fact that if we ditch braith, the team will not suffer as carney will be playing his best position and towers will be doing a strong job from fullback. He has all the skills and hallmarks of a modern day fullback - defensive positioning, speed, support play and great ball playing skills having played a fair bit of half as well.

Gee, along with Pyles I think JJ is our most important player.

                        Some tough weeks ahead.

How good was his shot on Hornby?

That tackle along with some shots Ryles and JWH put on brought back some good memories.

As long as they aim up like that each game, I will be a happy man.

                              NRL.com on pearce's injury

The Sydney Roosters have suffered a major setback with star halfback Mitchell Pearce ruled out for four weeks with a shoulder injury.

Pearce was hurt in the first half of Sunday's 28-6 NRL loss to St George Illawarra, but played on unknowingly with a bone fracture.

The injury is also a blow to NSW's State of Origin hopes, with Pearce a frontline contender for the No.7 jumper for the opening game of the series in Sydney on May 26.

Roosters coach Brian Smith is likely to move Todd Carney from fullback to halfback, with Carney now also emerging as a Blues possibility.

Bulldogs veteran Brett Kimmorley is the incumbent NSW halfback and will also come into strong reckoning.
