the club was always being overly optimistic with his return date, the injury he suffered was horrific and was lucky to only escape with bone bruising, the main problem for Symonds now is how the knee responds to the increased workload of training, there was a Hawthorn player Stephen Gilham that sustained the exact same injury as Symonds and every time he stepped up the training workload the knee would swell up and his return delayed again, by the time he returned it was 20 weeks, I'm not suggesting the same thing will happen with Symonds but it can't be ruled out.Comment
