in the 58th minute he gets the ball from 1st reciever.....sidesteps 3 times back inside (which stunk of cowardice) and then gently underarmed the ball back....which luckily for us was wrongly called a tigers knockon.

if anasta had turned the ballover then (withouth getting a lucky call) i would have run onto the field and yanked him myself

If that was a high shot worth a penalty then i am Braith himself.

    Pathetic call.

Also if you are going to call Braith out for errors, call out half of the team.

Carney and Perret had 6 between them.

I know for a fact that Carney and FPN were twice as frutrating than anyone else.

We didn't even come close to Playing direct today with Todd at 7.

Anasta, when compared to the rest of the team was one of our best today.
FPN cops his share.. He is on less than half of Anasta, Carney has won us a few already this season so he gets cut a fair degree of slack.. Anasta as Captain and probably our highest paid player should be leading from the front and having more influence on the team and performance.. He doesn't.. If you are happy with his contribution then fair enough but I am not.

ON YA BRAITH 8/10 IMO.this game is where ANASTA found his real will to win again and he'll kick on 4 the rest of the season.
His 11 tackles and 4 misses and 7 runs for 42 metres better than Myles 19 runs for 149 metres and 30 tackles with just 2 missed and a couple offloads.. Easily pleased..

Actually, i should of stopped reading after you accused Anasta of cowardice. That right there shows that you watched the game facing away from the television.

He can be accused of a sub-par performnce yesterday(along with the rest of the team), but to say he doesn't commit physically 100% is laughable.

not calling braith out for errors. gnerally commenting on how crap he is. rarely touches the ball apart from hoisting it up so not going to accrue many errors anyway.
basically feel sick every time i see this overpayed (once) overrated hack on the field.

could stomach a youngster toiling away and making errors...not a veteran marquee player doing nothing

I agree with what you are saying, but NRL stats say Beau Ryan did not make any errors...

                He gifted us that game..

NRL stats also say Brunton did not make any errors either...So Smith hooked him for nothing..??

There's no doubt Braith is out of form and is on too much coin, however calling him out each game on it and making him the scapegoat isn't really fair.

He dug in yesterday and contributed to the victory.

PS that shot on Heighington (?) was pure class after the Myles penalty. We were getting rorted and he stepped up for us by smashing the first bloke running the ball up.

                    I agree that was good.
But that and the last bomb were the only positives in a game where he made some terrible passes and decisions. I mean how was Carney supposed to catch that left to right pass in the first attacking set when Bwaith shot it like a gun out of a bullet.
                    barbarian ......arrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrgh!!!!!!!

Anasta didn't play too badly yesterday. But he is at the stage in his career, where he needs to move into the backrow. Or at least, play as a running 5/8 rather than a ball player (similar to what Bird does). He still has a lot to offer. Defensively, he is excellent. And he has a good strong running game. He just hasn't been able to utilise it

Frustrating isnt the right word mate.

He has been rubbish for years now. Time to move him on so that we can move forward and upwards.

Pick your Anasta bashing weeks, admittedly there are quite a few to choose from. But one where the team finally bound together in an ugly, gritty win of which he was part of the driving force -not one of them. It's tiresome to read.
