  • Anasta barely trains during the week

interesting video interview released with Anasta today, he goes into detail about how he very rarely trains with the team due to his ankle, not sure what everyone else thinks, but if his ankle is that bad maybe he should have missed the start of the season to get it right, the way it is being handled now will not only make him a week to week proposition it also effects team preparation because he can't get out on the track with the boys.

hopefully when the likes of Jaubs,Pearce,Friend,Carney,Jones are all fit and available they can give Anasta the rest he needs to heal properly.

It explains a lot about the way he has been playing. Nowhere near even to last year's standard. As we get more players back they should rest him. Mini proved he can still play well at fullback and Carney can move to 5/8. One area where we do have a bit of depth is the 1, 6 and 7.

Anasta said after the Tigers game that his ankle has just recovered enough that he can put up the big bombs.

I would agree that he should have sat out and gave it the right recovery time. He was probably concerned that if he did that Carney and Pearce would play halves and he would have no position to come back to.

He should sit out until at least after the bye.. Otherwise he will fall apart in the second half of the season.

I don't think he is that unsure of himself somehow.

Doesn't surprise me that his kicking game was a bit off in the early part of the season then. If Pearce wasn't already out I'd say he should give it til the bye to recover properly

On FOX Sports yesterday he was limping pretty badly so you would have to think he is very doubtful to play this week.

I don't think they will be happy at all.

I think bagging Anasta on this Forum is what keeps a lot of them going....

Ill bag him if he plays badly, whether hes injured or not, and he has played badly in 4 0f our first 6 games, but the last two weeks I think he has been quite good.

                        barely trains during the week

                        barely contributes on game day

if only we could add "barely takes up any cap space"

Gee taking the early 2 points nearly worked out for the tigers TOK.

                            nearly being the key word

how painful it was to watch, esp when the second shot missed...

those 2 decisions kept the Roosters in the game

Simon Woolford was correct when he called it "ridiculous"

You would be on a similar wage I would say and yet yet your contribution to this forum and indeed your employer seem so worthy......
