  • The club putting profit before the team

Next week we play Newcastle at Gosford, I assume this is because the club feels it will get a larger gate but surely the success of the team needs to be put in front of everything. We should be playing the Knights at the SFS next Saturday night. Surely our chances of a win are much greater if we play them at our home ground. This quick grab for cash has backfired on us in the past, I'll be mightilly pissed off if it happens again.

If we are good enough we win regardless.

Our record at the SFS over the last few years isn't flash anyway.

Our record this year is great, we're much more formidable at the SFS.

Fair enough but I guess the club needs to be run as a business also. Perhaps the North Qld game could have been played there instead.

they make more than 100000 grand on the nite.
          the gate
          20-25% on catering
          plus money from nrl
          money from pig singleton.
          thats why we go.
we will not be beaten this time

That's it, we get paid big money to play there, and there is also the temptation of bigger gate revenue.

I wish we were playing in Sydney but I don't think it can be used as an excuse for another rubbish performance against Newcastle in Gosford. They are awful at the moment and this is two points we must earn.

The SFS for us isn't exactly a fortress

Unfortunately when you have as many fair weathered fans as we do the club needs to make decisions like this. I would be surprised if Management want nothing more that to have all home games at the SFS.

We would need to double our membership numbers to make this happen

100000 grand is a lot of money, 10 mill to be exact. I'm surprised we don't play every home game there.

God no. We saw last year with the Titans game that no one will turn up.

Lazy sods on the CC whining for a team but don't turn up to watch when a club sacrafices home games for the pricks every year.

At least Gosford is closer than NZ - haven't we given up our home game against the Warriers to Christchurch? in NZ.

I'd definitely be going to Gosford if I wasn't on hols - but a few days at Daydream Island awaits.

When you rely on the opposition to fill the stadium, it makes perfect sense to move it closer to them...

When Freddy and Johns used to run around at the SFS, many many buses used to come down the freeway...

                            This clearly doesn't happen anymore..

Although, I do agree it is crazy to hand over a home game to the opposition..

                            Money talks...

Newcastle is just as far from Gosford as Sydney is...
