I noticed that as well. I guess Brian liked the groove we were in and didn't want to change that.

We have to remember, this is Jakes first game starting in grade this year.

It was well played by the team last night. There were a few outstanding performances.
        * Braith Anasta showed that he still had something to offer to our attack and seemed to be very positive throughout the match, as a good captain should be. I thought his leadership was fantastic and he complimented Pearce style of play. Well done.
        * Young BJ Leilua made his debut and I thought it was a very good one. He ran hard and made good metres. He definitely offers the side another dimension off the bench and looked like our x-factor. I hope he stays in the side for at least the next couple of weeks.
        * I thought Nick Kouparitsis done a great job last night. His ball to Nuuausala close to the line was all class IMO. He isn't a genuine hooker but he played very well. If he can consistently put in performances like the one last night, I'll be happy for him to continue on off the bench.
        * Big Frankie Paul played awesome on the fringes of the ruck. He is very explosive and rans riot out wide. IMO that is his new position and he should remain there. I always thought we needed to have a crack at signing Adam Blair from the Storm, but Nuuausala showed last night he is the same type of player and provides us with another attacking dimension out wide.
        * Mitchell Pearce was obviously our main contributor tonight and sparked our attack all night. This kid is ready for Origin and I hope he gets picked for the second game even though we need him because he thoroughly deserves to be playing amongst the best players in the world.
        * Our props Jason Ryles and Jared Wearea-Hargreaves provided plenty of go forward and were great. They provided a fantastic platform for the likes of Pearce and co. to play their style of play.

All in all, it was a great game by the boys and hopefully they can back up and do it again this week. Our biggest problem has been consistency and I'm hoping we can string a few games together because we can be the dark horses of the competition.

Can I just say, that I have to give all credit to Daniel Conn?

Playing very well for us so far.

i may have been imagining it but in the first half it seemed like conn was taking 2 hit ups every set, does anyone know his actual stats

I knew when we signed conn is was a good move. He was unlucky with injury last year. But in 2008 he was probably the titans best forwards. He would have been cheap to coming off and injury prone year!!

Conn is a great player, playing through injury. You can tell he is trying his hardest for the team, trying to cement his spot. Players like that, i have a lot of time for. Tough bugger.

i honestly think kouparitsas is one of those players who is a fringe first grader

however smith is trying to mould him into a genuine first grader like he did with that newcastle player (forgotten his name)

He played great this week...didnt have too much hand on the ball and i agree footy his pass was classy

i dont know maybe im just bias (coz im greek)

Koups wasn't bad on Monday, but we still have far greater options in both the backrow and at hooker. Chase Stanley had a great game replacing Inglis on the weekend. That doesn't mean he will hold his position though, because he isn't the best at the club. Same applies with Koups

That ball was at least a yard forward!

No it wasn't. It was a great flat ball. Those look deceiving because the passer is moving across while runner is running straight. It was a great pass to a player running a good line.

Well so far this year, we have put together a few good attacking efforts:

                            v Souths, Round 1
                            v Tigers, Round 2
                            v Broncos, Round 4
                            v Raiders, Round 6
                            v Titans, Round 12

...as well as a few strong defensive efforts:

                            v Broncos, Round 4
                            v Raiders, Round 6
                            v Tigers, Round 8
                            v Titans, Round 12

Unfortunately, we played very poorly in both defence and attack in our 5 losses. We just need to put both together more often.
