... Chook? Surely it isn't his consistency.
I hope you're right but history tells me otherwise.
But I'm prepared to give him all this year to come good. Let Smith have the year with him and if he's still playing like Trew posts, then I'll be first to step up and be bagged. The kid has heart, size and desire, the rest can be learned. SKD just needs to empty his cup.
Chook.

I was an ordinary park footy player and it was expected to know how to draw and pass in the under 12s/13s, especially if you played in the backs.
This bloke is in his 4th season of first grade yet he still can't do it.
Not sure why you are defending him mate. Shannon Hegarty was the same. Could make a break but stuff it up when the basics let him down.Born and bred in the eastern suburbs.

That all suggests to me that there is hope for him. If all of you concede that these are the real easy bits of our game that he is getting wrong then with a bit of time, focus and effort they shouldnt be too challenging to fix. Dumb errors and defensive reads will improve with time and confidence - remember toops - slowly but surely he sort of understood when to and not to pop the ball. SKDs errors and missed tackles are already way down on years gone by.
If he cant do what average park footballers can then there is probably a reason why he is right up there in the nrl for tackle busts, tries and line breaks over the course of his career. Thats why the park footballers are park footballers - they havent got that edge which he does. THats why imo he is worth persisting with
