  • I love Jake but why is he so dishevelled???

    Is it the haircut??
    Is it the stubble??

Is it the bad fitting suit????

    I am not sure.

Does he come from a houso background?
    Was he in the Commish??

    Its got me beat.

    But Seriously,

I dug him as a player when Lammy was coaching him in the u20s.
He and my best mate Ben Jones were the only two decent players.
But the last 2 years I reckon Jake is walking around in a daze??
Obviously the dude has some problems. Some heavy shit.
    One thing is for sure.....

A first grade player with his mums valium to help him sleep after being bashed in a game is not newsworthy.

    Let alone front page news.

    Are they kidding??

This is the biggest beat up I have seen in league.

As a club we should unite against the Tele.
    They do us no favours.
    They have persecuted Jake.

Have a think about life in Sydney.
Hit and runs, murders, drug dealing, etc.
And this is on the front page?????
    Get a life.
    barbarian ......arrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrgh!!!!!!!

you obviously know all the facts.

Kind of like Super League... unbiased, factual, hard hitting journalism.

I wonder what it would be like working for an organization like News.

You leave school bright eyed, hoping to make a difference, land a job with a plum newspaper like the Tele and then reality sets in.
Your editor doesnt let you anywhere near a real story.
Spinning rubbish to the dullard masses.
Meanwhile you develop this self loathing that comes from a misguided belief that you are actually making a difference when deep down you know that a fifth grader could pen the same stories.
An inability to find and write the truth(such as serious salary cap breaches) leads to a feeling of frustration and futility ands the end of the day looks into the bottom of a schooner glass on all too many an occasion.

Great way to make a living.

What do you expect from a newspaper that on the same page they are reporting the news of the four year old son of a Socceroo being diagnosed with cancer, is also running a poll as to whether the Socceroos will make it to the next round.

the last straw for me with jake was watching this bludger taking 2 sets of tackles to get back onside after a long kick from the sharks. He actually stood (with ryles) in the sharks defensive line for one tackle because he was too lazy to get back onside and do his bloody job.

other hookers play for the full 80 minutes and are everywhere making an impact.

Friend can only manage to get himself in the papers for nothing to do with what happens on the field.

                        Another waste of space.

There are a lot of people who have a massive wrap on the guy. I'm yet to see him do anything above the ordinary. I do think he was rushed back before he was fully match fit and probably should have been kept in Toyota Cup for at least 4 weeks before being considered for NRL selection.

Todd Carney link to Jake Friend drug bust

This is the heading they come up with. Talk about trying to sensationalise a nothing story that had nothing to do with a drug bust. Yeah yeah before you fart TOK, ok valium is a "drug bust" and Todd Carney was near him which means he is linked to some drug deal. FFS

I've said it before, the only decent journalist in that paper is Josh Massoud and he is doing himself no justice hanging around.

My thoughts too... I watched Friend play a season of NYC and ditto Brunton and Brunton does everything better than Friend ever did.. Escapes me why Friend was rushed back in..
