Secondly, and this is how dam silly you are.
Check where each team was on the ladder in comparison to St George at the time they played them.
    Not where they are now.

    **** you are really dumb.

Without Politis' support and business acumen there might not even be a Roosters team today.

With Anderson...we weren't atop the ladder.

Fittler, he of the 2002 Grand Final 2nd half charge...climbed off the deck, head swathed in bandages, 40-20, urging the players to victory!...1st time coach last year, it didn't work out this time.

We nearly got Bennett, but missed out...and signed Smith instead...to rebuild the club.
Ahem, we got the wooden spoon last year!
Rebuilding a team takes several years...and we're already doing a lot better than last year.
Smith is a very experienced coach...anyway, who else better was available to sign?

There is absolutely no point in competing in any sports competition just to be a passenger with "some" success.

Whilst I don't mind your posts BigMike (and have agreed with you on some things), the above is a typical souffs fans expectation.

There is no success other than that of a premiership and only a premiership. Everything else, well it's just "making up the numbers".

All of them have their strengths and their weaknesses.

To me its all about timing.
The best administrators need to make the right decisions at any given time for what is needed.

We sign a man who has never won a comp in 21 years of trying.
We sign him on the basis of a Phil Gould recommendation who sees him as some replacement for the pariah, Fittler.

I just know in my bones it is the wrong decision.
Not for choice, just for the duration.

I will guarantee that the best year Smith has with our beloved club is 2014.
Just in time to renew his contract.
We might finish second, third or fourth.

Then the merry go round goes round again.

If this happens, I will have lost all respect for Nick Politis.
          Word.
And if it does, for the first time in my life I will ask for his head.
Because if you want to sign a man who has never won a comp in 21 years of trying it better be in the first 4 years of his ****ing contract.
where did this come from, we have won more games by round 13 than we did last year. you are the type of supporter that shits me!!! The blokes been in the job for less than 12 months and you want to punt him in 2014?? we are seeing some of the young blokes with talent in the club come up through the ranks and eventually into the first grade side, have some patience, we want to be competitive every year not for one or two, we need to build a base that will be there for years to come.

If uncle Nick was not around we would not be around. How much cash do you think he has sunk into the joint over the last 25 years without any remote possibility of any financial return down the track, he loves the club, sure he may get things wrong from time to time, we all do. Remember he brought Gus and Freddy to the club in 96, we have not looked back since, except for the last couple of years.

There are a lot of clubs out that wish they were half as successful as we have been since the Gus and Freddy show rolled into town.

Mate, i think i didn't make myself clear. Whilst part of that message refers to getting over the past horrid period, part of it refers to being a succesful team, judged by making the finals consistantly.

Once you make the 8, anything can happen. By being competitive and making the 8, they give themselves a genuine shot at the title. I'd rather that than a one 'purple patch' year, followed by many more of dissapointment - eg. Tigers, Cows. With consistant success(making the finals) comes reward (premiership).

Why? The ladder in the early rounds never reflects the best teams... it's such a small sample size that anyone paying attention to it are the deluded ones. Yes I'm sure you're aware of the March Premiership that Souffs celebrate every year.... their positions currently reflect the best teams in the comp more than they did 10 rounds ago that's for sure.

True.. Back on Lam I actually do hope he succeeds as I loved him as a player and he did appear to love the club unlike some.. Maybe Trew is right.. Time will tell but at this stage he doesn't have the runs on the board.

I'm still confident. We need to stick with Smith so he can at least see some programs and systems through. Too many changes has left a lot of stuff up in the air. He's an excellent coach who took us to a Grand Final with a bunch of pretty poor players for the most part. The best thing for the club is to give him another two seasons at least.

When Smith was first signed I said on The Wall that he won't see out the 4 years. I still believe that to be the case but its too early for the knives IMO

If we fail to make the finals this year, he will be under pressure to see out next season

4 years was nothing but a nice superannuation plan for Smith

You'd be one of them blokes who'd still talk to your mate after he chopped your mrs!

You started this thread one week before the Roosters charged into the finals, and complaining again after a period of absence. Are you related to Rooster Cogburn?

As I see it, 2010 was touch footy like 2005. This year's slower play-the-ball was always going to make it difficult for attacking teams like the Roosters and Tigers to replicate their 2010 achievements.

We are in a similar position to early 2010 with opposition teams shutting down our inept attack with compressed defense. Our answer last year was Carney's switch to 5/8th which forced the opposition the spread their defense. Even though Carney is playing injured, given the slower play-the-ball I am not convinced a fully fit Carney will be the answer.

We need better attacking options and I laugh at anyone who believes slow wingers who nullify our attacking options are the answer. If we stick with the likes of BJ and Perrett on the wing we will be lucky to make the 8.

We were being flogged by 46 this time last season.

I do wish we were a more consistent team, but there's barely 2 of those in the entire competition so just have to deal with it unfortunately
