To me its all about timing.
The best administrators need to make the right decisions at any given time for what is needed.
We sign a man who has never won a comp in 21 years of trying.
We sign him on the basis of a Phil Gould recommendation who sees him as some replacement for the pariah, Fittler.
I just know in my bones it is the wrong decision.
Not for choice, just for the duration.
I will guarantee that the best year Smith has with our beloved club is 2014.
Just in time to renew his contract.
We might finish second, third or fourth.
Then the merry go round goes round again.
If this happens, I will have lost all respect for Nick Politis.
Word.
And if it does, for the first time in my life I will ask for his head.
Because if you want to sign a man who has never won a comp in 21 years of trying it better be in the first 4 years of his ****ing contract.
We're rebuilding, winning a premiership was probably not the number one priority when he was signed.
Check out the refereeing in the 2010 Grand Final!
We could well have won that game but for the refereeing.
'Tainted' is that 2010 trophy, in my mind.
Hadley hasn't called us a 'zoo' for a few weeks now...only a few weeks mind you, not a few years!
2 years of Smith's contract are nearly over...and only recently the media was printing mocking cartoons about our board/management and ridiculing our club and team.
Smith is 'only' the coach...who doubles as a mentor of young players.
He's not in charge of living 24/7 with wayward players and responsible for everything at the club.Last edited by bondi-boy; 06-01-2011, 09:07 PM.

Mate if you only knew how true those cartoons might be.
I recently overheard a conversation regarding a highly credentialed representative player.
It seems that Big Brian aka mr Carney never rated this player at all.
It seems Brian was misguided.
I don't like him. I don't respect what he stands for. He is a selfish man.
Btw, how bad is that raiders winger now playing for us in the centers. Wrong!barbarian ......arrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrgh!!!!!!!

If we were floated we would be the most over inflated stock in the NRL.
We over pay, we under deliver, we have no sound acumen.
We hire the wrong people.
We recruit on player popularity, ironically this is when players don't value scruples.
It's a different world we live in.
Young people no longer respect nor value integrity or loyalty because they know it's conditional.
Which, in itself makes the whole house of cards an illusion.barbarian ......arrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrgh!!!!!!!

A 2 or 3 year tenure.........great. 4 years is moronic.
21 years, no premiership, a collaboration of his ex players, staff and friends who don't rate him.barbarian ......arrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrgh!!!!!!!

Yes mate but don't forget one thing.
The kids that learn respect and humility will always finish in front.
These are age old principles and will survive long after you, I, gen y and the dead sea scrolls.barbarian ......arrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrgh!!!!!!!
