What the Telegraph has alleged is a very serious matter.

The allegations are that crimes have been, and are being, committed.
...and Jake has been charged with a crime by the cops..."Drug bust"...oh please!, someone gives you a few of their Valium for anxiety and tattoo pain relief and the cops arrest you, fingerprint and mugshot you, and send you for trial.
      Baaah!

Next time the cops ring the radio seeking support, and/or help for one of their own...I'll be hitting the OFF SWITCH until they're gone.
Jake could go to prison if convicted?...wonder what the penalty is for the crime he's been charged with?
I must've been asleep the day possessing a few Valium your friend or family gave you was made a crime.

If I were Roosters bosses I'd be off to my lawyers today about the allegations the Telegraph has made.
I'd also being standing up to Gallop and the NRL.

yes you must have been, because it is

granted that most of you are deluded beyong belief when it comes to the prospect of anyone at the Roosters having done something wrong, it's worth remembering this is Jake Friend we're talking about. Jake Friend who's on his last chance at the club. Jake Friend who, if he was fair dinkum about having changed his ways and fair dinkum about repaying the club for the chances they've given him, wouldn't put himslef within a million miles of a situation like this

The sad part is the club initially saying there was an innocent explanation, but since that time no innocent explanation has been forthcoming and Friend is now refusing to be interviewed by investigators

but no, it's all just a giant conspiracy by The Daily Telegraph to undermine the Roosters

        That's what it is

just like the corrupt referees penalising us too much

Couldn't agree more,my apprentice's come to work on mondays after putting a pharmacy through their bodies on the weekend, but they stiill have a go, if the boss sacked everyone who took a pill on the weekend there would be nobody left.Im sure the journo's at the telecrap have taken a pill, some speed or bit of coke in their day. However theres nobody out there hunting them down.

Anything's possible in the world today.

However, there could well be an innocent explanation for Jake's possession of a few Valium...just like he says.
Maybe he didn't think he was doing anything wrong, as it was just Valium, a legal drug prescribed by a doctor for the woman.
He and Carney passed a drug test, didn't they?
I wouldn't be telling the cops anything either, seeing as how they charged him and sent him to trial for hitting that famous person's female relative in the niteclub, and he Jake was INNOCENT!

Jake Friend and ......... .... cleared of assault

Friend, who continues to play for the Roosters, also denied assaulting Mr Bradley-Qalilawa.

His lawyers said the CCTV footage showed he was nowhere near the scuffle at the time.

Friend says he needed valium pills to counter tattoo pain and anxiety

A NEW tattoo is understood to be behind Jake Friend's latest brush with the law, with the Sydney Roosters hooker arrested for possessing two valium tablets without prescription after being searched by police in Coogee on Saturday night.

The Herald was told Friend had the tablets to relieve pain from tattoo work done last week, as well as help with anxiety, and will plead not guilty to the charge.

I don't think anybodys is denying it's silly on their part. But, do you really think it warrants the scrutiny and coverage from the media?

In the space of 12 months, the telecrap has accused our club of
                  players and coach`s snorting cocaine
                  favors given by brothel owners
                  match fixing
and now a prescription drug culture...
No proof or evidence supplied. No names given on most stories
This is obviously an agenda to disscredit our club and rugby league
We should sue the shit out of this gutter trash media outlet for slander and put an end to their constant diatribe...

                      Sounds reasonable.

The cops should also be demanding from the paper the name of the whistleblower.

If you don't think those morons at the tele have an agenda against the Roosters because of Gus's association with us and his friendship with Politis, it is you who has their head well and truly up their arse. If you were a true Rooster support and not some dickhead come lately, you would know this as fact.

Are presciption pain killers widely used at our club? Certainly they are, just as they are widely used at other clubs to assist players copping with injuries. Where's that stated anywhere in this latest bullshit from the daily telucrap? Nowhere!

Jake Friend and Todd Carney were both tested and were found not have any evidence of valium in thier system, so your assertion that "no innocent explanation has been forthcoming" is just more head up arse syndrome from you.

Just fark off retard, you've been exposed as a moronic troll. Go bother some other clubs supporters.

                          Chook.

Steve Noyce has issued a statement today...a sound grab was just on the 2pm radio news...to the effect that, para: " there's no evidence to support the prescription drugs abuse allegations made ... and there's no such culture at the Roosters".

                            Game over!

Now the cops can drop the "drug bust" Valium charges against Jake Friend!

Roosters boss denies club has a culture of prescription drug abuse

EMBATTLED Sydney Roosters chief executive Steve Noyce yesterday denied allegations of a drug culture at the club.

His statement followed a Sunday newspaper probe that allegedly found a number of Roosters players routinely took prescription drugs, including valium.

"I've asked the newspaper to pass on any information they have, but (it) has so far declined," Noyce said.

"The Sydney Roosters do not wish to impede any ongoing police investigation. Jake Friend remains innocent until proven guilty," Noyce said.
